Du hast -> you have Du hasst -> you hate The song contains another double meaning. WILLST DU BIS ZUM TOD DER SCHEIDE -> 1.) Do you want, until death, which would separate / 2.) Do you want until the death of the vagina SIE LIEBEN AUCH IN SCHLECHTEN TAGEN - > to love her, even in bad days The original lyrics in the booklet are written exactly like this in capital letters. That's why you can't tell if the word "SCHEIDE" is the verb "to separate" or the noun " vagina". Anyway, this part explains the whole message of the song. The woman asks him if he wants to be with her until death, but for him that means also being with her without having sex (death of vagina) with her. This then explains the double meaning of "you have/you hate". The woman wants love but the man only wants sex.

"Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet" means something else than "willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide", sounds pretty much the same in German (means the same thing) but is quite more brutal

So you are Dutch! Now I know, where to "put you", because of the accent. Yes, this song is about the wedding vows. And yes: Du hast - You have, but Du hasst - you hate. It has all to do with the pronunciation. Because of the video to this song I always interpret this one as a song about a toxic relationship. This type, where the woman/man ask the partner to give up your friends and hobbies, and be only there for them at the end and their interests. Which can never work in my opinion, but alright. He decides then to stay with his friends (which I can understand, I would to the same) and says "no" to the woman. But as I always say, with Rammstein you have a band, who is hardly saying what is the song about, because they like it, when you have your own way of thinking. So there is hardly a right or wrong. I "fell in love with Rammstein" in 1997 with "Engel" and it stays until today. I am sure I will love them until I die. I am 40 now and have hardly female friends, because they can not understand that I will never get a plesure out of listening to H. Fischer. As I say. I like it hard, harder Hypocrisy. This is a Swedish Death Metal band! Reaction to Rammstein.
