He was still singing well at the time of his death in his 50s so whatever he was doing technically, certainly helped him preserve his voice to the end. He even sang Lohengrin.

Where have I been. First time I've heard of or this tenor. Björling is better but they both have Nordic vocal ease ,solid assurance in sound and listening satisfaction. Will seek out more.

A bit heavy stuff for him, but he manages it very well indeed. I am not convinced how much moving to heavy repertoire was bad for his health, although unfortunately fatal heart attacks can happen due to various reasons. A great loss to opera.
