I highly recommend this video for those taking the G test at Downsview!! I was able to pass my road test on the first try and watching this video right before the exam helped me to remain calm. I took the test at about 1:30pm no high traffic on the highway but the streets along the route were quite busy and beware of the constructions sites around.

Just completed my G-Test at Downsview. The route was the same, except I didn't have to go into the residential area off Keele Street. We got off 401-W at Keele, turned right at Shepard Ave West, and went back to the testing centre. My test was at 11:20am so the traffic was minimal. Due to COVID delays, there are a lot of people needing to be tested which is why the G test route is currently modified making it overall pretty easy. No parallel parking, etc.

@@luistheropeguy I did my test last year (2021) and yes they did ask me. But it was in front of a driveway and I told the instructor that it wasn’t allowed, she said I know, just do it quick!

Hi! Seen from ur video the G road test on downsview, the highway is 403 west , is it the examiner can ask u to go 401 west or 403 west ? Just want to clarify, thanks a lot

Im preparing for my G road test in 2 weeks, and i have been watching this video everyday, makes me feel calm and ready to pass my test on first try (fingers crossed) My intsructor told me that there will be no maneuvers on the tests, only plain driving

That’s good to know. Best wishes on your test. I would suggest to be prepared for any maneuvers during the test, as it’s part of your driving skills and you are supposed to know them if any come across.

Since there's 3 lanes on Allen Rd, if the opposing traffic has the advance left turn could I turn right (from Sheppard onto Allen) at the same time (after coming to a complete stop)?

At 22:57 why didn’t you switch lanes into the left lane after doing a right turn? Just curious please explain

Once I did the right turn, the upcoming turn is towards the right. There is no reason to take the left lane. Just in case, if I had to turn left further, I would have changed lane to the left and then take a left turn. I hope this helped you.

It is a good practice to signal when you know that you are crossing the center line.

My instructor told me I have to change lane by default on keele and Wilson cause one of the lanes are coming to an end and also keele and Shepard when heading back to the test centre

If the lane is a merger lane, then you do have to change the lane based on your judgement, simply because you will run out of lane. That stays for any similar merger lanes. Elsewhere, the examiner most probably will let you know for any other lane changes.

@@vinceceniza7807 Not Necessarily. If the intersection has 1 Left and 1 Right, and you are turning left; then you turn into the leftmost lane and then keep right when safe. So depending on a scenario; Assuming you are exiting from 401/403/QEW to a regional road: The exit mostly have 4 Lanes, 2 Left and 2 Rights. Sometime 3 Lanes, then the Center lane serves Left and Right, 1 Left and 1 Right. 1. Assuming once you take a left and you have to turn at the very next right, then it make sense to keep the 2nd Left lane (That would avoid risk of collision while changing lanes soon after the turn) 2. If you have to drive further straight or turn left once you make the left turn, then preferably stay on the left most lane to take the turn. The Law is when you make a left turn from a leftmost lane in an intersection, you enter the leftmost lane ahead, and then move to the right lane when safe. If you make a left turn from the 2nd Left Lane, then you enter the Second Left Lane at the turn. Sorry. I could not attached any pictures here. I’m no sure if I’m keele and Shepard and I’m in the centre lane, must I wait for him to tell me to change lane to the right? Since that’s the lane I have to be on to get back to the centre.

Once you enter Keele St. The following intersection which is shepherds st. You will be turning right which takes you to the Drive Test Center. Since you have to take a right turn on shepherd’s St., it is advisable to change lane to the right as soon an you enter the keele street from whiteburn cres.

Usually they don’t trick you or give you dangerous instructions while driving. It is a dangerous situation for them. So just in case it happens, check for vehicles behind you and when safe reduce your speed to change lane. If you go above the speed limit, probability of re-test is quite high.😀

Depends on the Proctor. Me and 2 others had our test last week and 2 of us had to do an emergency, 3 point and parallel Parking. One was only asked to do a emerald 3 point turn.

The speed limit sign is 40 KM/H at the school zone Blaydon Ave. and the same applies to Renshaw and Langholm.

Some of the guys had the test from 9.50 to 2 pm. Some of them came across traffic. Don’t worry about the traffic. It there is traffic it’s good. You just have to drive slow and maintain distance. I feel that’s an advantage. Never get tensed. They won’t ask you to do a lanechange when there is traffic.
