Hello, do you know any height difference from terrain between the two? BTW of course I expected a better result on Hex beam. I have a Hex myself and had a cobweb for some time in the past. Not very happy with cobweb, yes it's small and gives you the 5 band capability but acutally was performing exactely the same as my vertical fishing pole with a 4:1. Less constructing effort, less horizzontal area, less everything, same result, so I removed the cobweb eventuall. I think I have a video on YT of what I'm saying thought. 73 and thank for this video

If you close your eyes and don't look at the S-meter, you can hear no difference between the two, at least not from the recording.

Unless egg-shaped, the Cobweb (HF HALO) has it's highest gain in the direction from the feed-point, so did he have that specific type of omni *_''Pointed''_* toward you? That would provide the HALO-Web's highest possible signal since it produces several dB less energy from the side.

Was the X in the exact same position of the Cob when he tried the test? NO, so not a fair comparison is it? You can only make a fair comparison when both antennas are situated in the exact same location and the height above ground. Even if there is only a one inch difference in the site it will make a whole difference.

What kind of comparison is that? The Hex beam is higher. How do you compare a two element beam with a compromised dipole? Are you guys a bunch of CBs?
