What an absolute MASTERCLASS from Contractz those two games. It's so amazing to see a bunch of players that kept on persevering, and poured there heart into improving after getting tossed around teams, playing in poor performing teams and even the challenger league. It's amazing to see them reap the benefits of their hard work. I really hope NRG makes it far. They played the series extremely well and they should be proud of their performance at Worlds for a team that no one had big expectations for. As for G2, I think they can claw there way back. G2 is a team that is familiar with playing in stressful environments and dealing with setbacks. I can see a world where they claw themselves out alongside NRG.

They chose their botlaner because he was a resident who spoke fluent Korean, not because he had the most talent. 2. C9 only has 1 NA player. Fudge is Australian, and since their league has been disbanded I would have no issue considering them NA for those purposes BUT if you did that... 3. Then NRG would also have 4 "NA" players, since FBI is Australian. It's pretty clear that NRG is built differently from other orgs both in this sense, and their massive coaching staff. I mean what we have seen from all these years so far they were not wrong . To be honest NRG came on paper aas they huge underdogs. And for me even now NA fans still should not be talking and mocking at all . Because of the history bettwewn the 2 of them but cause of the history in the international stage as well . I mean NA'S best run on an internations stage is a final in MSI 2019 where they lost 3 games in a record fast time and then a top 4 at Worlds 2018 with C9 . People used to push the narrative that NRG was greater than the sum of its parts, but this series showed that each player is capable of playing at a high level. As a viewer, I prefer seeing an inconsistent team with a super-high ceiling than a consistent team with a mid-high ceiling. I'm excited to see which NRG will show up to Quarterfinals.

Props to NRG for today, Eventhough Im a proud european I admit we got outclassed today. It always appeared like G2 had a very weak mental and one loss was enough to break them. It kinda seems like the GENG series was enough for them to collapse.. probably for the rest of the tournament. Neverthless, NRG really played out of their minds, hopefully they can keep it up, and achieve some results in this years worlds. I'm usually not writing any negative comments, but some part of me is actually happy that G2 is not being successful internationally. I used to cheer for them through Jankos era, before, during and after their peak. The were quite arrogant, cocky, but still backed it all up with great results internationally (semifinals and finals 3 years in a row). However, my sympathy to the organization dropped drastically after their infamous act of dropping players carelessly and blocking their transfers to other EU powerhouses by setting insanely high buyouts. I blame G2 for the downfall of EU as they haven't allowed the creation of another super team by spreading insanely good players across low or mid tier teams (even forcing some to get benched or give some splits up). If only G2 allowed players like Perkz or Jankos go whenever they want, it would keep a spirit of competitiveness within a region. Things look worse year by year, and, frankly, I don't see the chance for improvement if G2 continues on doing their dirty tricks (unless some really talented rookies will pop in next season).

Also I believe that the hate between NA and EU was more like of a disappointment of one underperforming region of the West for many years. Like seeing one of the two getting gapped every year and performing worse put pressure to the other western region to make it out of groups just so we can see one more 0-3 series. GG NRG - Coming back on my comment on G2 vs GENG, G2 was massively exposed due to a very limited botlane pick to success. Both game today having Draven & Kalista banned destroyed G2 botlanes. It might be obvious, there adc bans are not meta at all but targeted and crafted vs G2. Seeing the performance today, and the matches to come, G2 has 24 hours to fix it, either in champion select or in training.
