People make it sounds like it’s easy to call for a pause. Referee has to decide whether or not if pause is needed before one happens. And people do realize they’re not allowed to talk to each other during pause, and the entire voice comms is recorded right? And the pause didn’t happen during team fight or crucial moment either. So if G2 lose their momentum just because of a pause, then they need to do better on their mental game.

@@rickysmithson178 not really. Referee has to agree to the pause before the pause can happen. Couple years ago, I think, Faker was having some sort of bug, and repeatedly ask for pause, both /pause and through voice comms, and the referee didn’t give it to him so he kept playing with the bug.

There are two types of pauses: directed pauses, which are ordered by referees or League officials; and player pauses (section 11.2 of the LCS rules), executed by the player themselves, after which they can't unpause until the situation has been evaluated by a referee.

@@PepsT could be different regions has different rules then. Cause in LCK, players cannot pause the game themselves. A referee has to be the one that calls for pause. Maybe that’s also why LCS is getting all the shit show pausing

they do pauses because of technical difficulties. guma’s keyboard wasnt working. this happens to other teams too, t1 included. there was a t1 match where they had to restart the whole match because the other team was having problems - it may seem not fair but its more unfair to the players that are experiencing problems with their setup they wouldn’t be able to play their best

These pauses are getting FAR too obvious. There isn't an issue with Guma's keyboard, their topside is tilted and needs to cool down and think about how to win so he has "keyboard issues". Start issuing yellow and red cards like in other sports. Edit for clarification: I should have said "what if there isn't actually an issue with Guma's keyboard" rather than implying I know some hidden truth, I don't! I simply want to draw attention to the fact that teams CAN abuse pauses, and in other sports it is directly integrated and regulated because of the significant advantage provided. Yes, there are more obvious physical advantages in other sports, but, timeouts are also frequently used for MENTAL advantages. e.g. icing the kicker in American Football

I don't think Zeus is the type to get tilted, I heavily doubt the pause will give you any time to calm down. They are pro players and have been in bad situations before. Unless you were there, you can't really say if he did or didn't have a keyboard issue no player wants to pause the game.

Like yes, players can call for the pause if there’s issue, but it’s the referee who decided whether or not to pause. If the situation is really what these people are insinuating, which there’s no keyboard problem, the whole pause was just for Zeus to calm down, I wonder if they realize how ugly and messy it’ll get. The referee probably will get fired for unjust pause, T1 as an organization and the players individually will get investigated and probably will lose their career for having a rigged game. T1 isn’t stupid to pull that kind of stunt nor is it worth it.

No they would say that there's a "problem" with the keyboard and after that there's no way to tell if they were telling the truth. Even if there was no problem with the keyboard and the pause was suspicious no one would do anything about it because they would have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Riot just needs to regulate pausing.
