G3 boat second review

This is a over all review on my G3 per request of a subscriber..the Pros & Cons of the boat.

I have a 2012 1860 dlx cc 90/60 jet for on the river.Just keep eye on that Bear trailer where coupler section go in.Mine broke out top corners on in front of lock and had to replace trailer.

Vasoline on rubber helps seals plug

Petroleum on rubber may not be a good thing, due to petroleum breaking down the rubber. But, that is my opinion it may hold true or may not best bet is to use silicone grease. thanks for watching.

Good thought I herd it reduces dry rot and hives a better seal I get a new plug ever year or 2. They don’t seem to last

You can add a tachometer, the wires should be in the control box. As for what battery the livewell is using, it should be the main battery. The only thing the trolling motor battery should be hooked to is the trolling motor and the charger. Storage can be added. Use aluminum, it's lighter, easy to work with and similar in price. Go to a local metal fabrication or weld shop to get pricing. The big box stores charge way to much. I added a rod locker and storage lockers to my G3.

Jose, Thanks for making a follow-up video! You mentioned some things that the casual boat shopper may not know before making the trip to the dealer. Very surprising to me that they don't have a tachometer on that boat. I'll be checking out your videos and will let you know if I make the plunge for a G3 DLX or a Gator Tough. Thanks, I have two type camera ..On this video i use a flip cam..but i also have a GoPro Black +3 which my wife gave me for the holidays. Yes, G3 is a well made boat. My particular model boat lacks some of the extras which i comment on the video. They manufacture other models that do come with extas,your best bet is to go to thier web site and check out all the models. She's a beautiful boat. I bought a brand new 2004 G3 HP 170 ( 17 feet 4 inches long ) high performance bass boat back in 2004 and I absolutely LOVE the boat. I had the biggest motor that was allowed to be put on it, a Yamaha 115 two stroke. It's really not bad on gas, if ya just cruise at 3,000 to 3,500 rpm's, and it is on plane & a good cruising speed of about 30mph. I have owned two different outboard motors on other older boats in the past, one was a Mercury, and the other was an Evinrude 40. I was always having to sink money into both of those motors. But my Yamaha 115 has been a dream come true. It has never let me down or given me any trouble at all. The device you are speaking of that displays your engine's rpm's is called a tachometer. Another reason gas is so bad these days is because today's gas in America contains a percentage of ETHANOL made from CORN. And that ethanol will cause the gas to degrade much faster. Please read my other 3 comments under you PART 1 video about your G3 boat, as one of my comments contains some VERY valuable information for anyone who owns an aluminum boat kept on a trailer. It is information that will actually SAVE THE HULL OF YOUR BOAT. Luckily, I learned about it before my aluminum G3 was damaged, and I try to pass that information onto other good people. +Howabouthetruth I've been very please with this boat..i owned several boats in the pass but this one stand alone, well built and reliable i never have doubt of getting me back to the ramp. yamaha motor to me are awesome. I don't use gas that has Ethanol product in it and i use the finest fuel treatment for my motor. and for the trailer my came with a Nylon covering on my bulk. so no problem with electrolysis on the hull.
