G37 Shifter Assembly Repair and Replacement

I'm having a P SHIFT warning on my dashboard whenever i turn off my G35 (It's shifted to park). Do you think this would fix it?

Seems like it. I am not good at troubleshooting though, but buying used shifter assembly is pretty cheap so maybe worth a try

i just did a switch and it still dosnt work

@@ItsBoogeyman Do you have two modules in the shifter? (Like I did). If you do, maybe the other one needs to be replaced, not sure though.

I have the same issue! I just press the shift knob button again and it works fine.

@@KirubeleGonzalez it could mean that eventually pressing the shift knob button won't help it, but time will tell

If I change the entire shift assembly is it plug and play or do I have to reprogram anything

Plug and play. I didn’t have to reprogram anything.

Do any of these modules tell the car which gear it is in so it can start my gear doesn’t show on dah board and I’m sure car won’t start because of it.

Yes, my understanding is it does. I had same issue and after replacing the modules the issues never happened again

@@PZPal Thank you for quick response. The car has codes u1000 can comm and b2604 pnp switch. Car is 2008 g35x 5AT. Should I try swapping the shifter? the car died on me while driving

I am not good at troubleshooting things, but replacing the shifter should take you just couple hours if not even less. They are pretty cheap too, so you could give it a try. Let me know how it goes.

Is the car on while u do this ?

No. No reason to do it while it’s on. You might need to turn it on only to move shifter to desired gear to remove the assembly.
