The first three "Spyro" games are amongst the best ever made, I haven't played the "Ratchet and Clank" and "Resistance" games and I know I'm missing out! Insomniac is awesome though, and I miss the glory days of the platformers like "Crash Bandicoot" and "Spyro" - even "Jak and Daxter" and "Ratchet and Clank".

I loved Disruptor very much when it launched back in '96. I did not however, care for Spyro The Dragon. I was just becoming a young adult and Spyro was akin to a children's game. There was so much available on the original PlayStation (I had a Saturn and N64 as well) that it really wasn't a loss for me. However, that all changed when Ratchet & Clank launched. I have played and own every single entry Insomniac has release. Further, we (fiancee and I) are ready for the new game in the series and will pick it up on day one for our PS5 *physical. I would also love to see a return of Resistance Fall of Man as well.

If anything, the series that Activision created (Skylanders) is a spin-off Spyro series. So I don't think they'd have to lose that series.What I mean is, maybe Insomniac could bring back the original Spyro franchise. While at the same time, Activision can continue with the spin-off series. :)

It's depressing to see the old Spyro now. There's a slight chance we can still see Naughty Dog make another Crash game if they buy the rights back (as the IP isn't doing so well these days) but Skylanders is so popular that we will likely never see another good Spyro game ever again. I wish that Naughty Dog would try to buy the Crash IP though, 1/2 is better than nothing.

Funny how they wanted to name the company Resistance which is what they have named their newest game franchise. It also interesting how they left Universal along with Spyro to go onto Ratchet and Clank. The same way Naughty Dog left Universal with Crash Bandicoot to make Jak and Daxter. Now Uncharted and Resistance couldn't be more different from both each other and what their companies started with.

Ratchet & Clank is not Sony's best selling franchise but it up there with the big dogs, Jak and Daxter, God of War and so on. There are rumours that not only R&C will get a movie, Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper is also rumoured to get animated movies.

If you have a PS3 get the 'Sly Collection', ' Jak and Daxter Collection' and 'Ratchet and Clank Collection'. Basically 3 games in one CD in HD and 3D for 40 dollars.

Will someone PLEASE make a fan-based spin off of the original Spyro games? Of course you can't call him "Spyro", but make him a dragon, BLUE (since blue is the closest thing you can get to purple) breathe fire, and charge. + glide&hover with headbashing and swimming of course. But I want a game where you collect dragons, Orbs, AND eggs. Have the Dragons throughout the level, Orbs in side quests, and eggs by catching theives. :DDDDDDDDD

yeah that sounds perfect. combining the exploration elements of twinsanity and the more linear elements of the classic is just what would make it great. and if there was one thing i did think radical did right was add a co op feature. maybe they could bring that back.

Ah, good point. I diddn't know he was doing this for no prophit. That's a shame, he can make millions if he made a game himself and modeled it after the original trilogy, but you have to change it enough so it's not breaking copyright laws.

They have such amazing music in spyro. That and zelda have the most enjoyable soundtracks ever. I also love love love ratchet and clank. I have beat them all with pride and still own them today! Along with spyro!

No, they don't. They have stated for the last 12 years that they have no intention of ever working on the Spyro franchise again. Ted Price has stated, however, that he's pleased with the new direction for the series.

overall Ratchet and Clank had a really good run. they have like a dozen games and its only natural that some franchises loose their steam after awhile. but in the end its probably due to the fact that Insomniac hasnt been keeping up on all the series. they let other people work on them and those are the worst ones. I would rather Insomniac just put the breaks on Ratchet for awhile and work on a spiritual successor of course. cause whether we like it or not Ratchet will end sooner or later.

Activision let radical kill crash when they released mind over mutants and titans that both sucked. crash and Spyro were not even in Playstation Allstars, that would have at least said they cared a little bit......
