Gear4Music guitars have definitely improved over the years. I remember kids would show up for lessons with them years ago and they were fucking horrible. Action and intonation all over the place. Now they’re producing guitars that are a serious choice for the budget buyer.

The logo is actually another sub brand of Gear4Music......the cog logo is the cheaper end stuff, G4M is the more expensive, there's Hartwood which is higher end, and Subzero for more Rock led styles.

Fantastic looking guitar that sounded great especially on the gain sounds I thought, love the burl top. Good review video, liked the new format, the only thing is leave the guitar specs on screen a little longer, they disappear a bit quick !! 👍🎸😄

Hi Jonny, awesome new look to the show. I thought that guitar sounded fabulas. The high gain stuff was wonderful but I always think you can really hear what's going on with a guitar when you play it clean and this one really sings. I love the finish, but the only thing that might put me off a bit is the lack of dots on the fretboard. I'm sure there are side dots so maybe I'd get used to it but I do rely on the fret markers a lot and I'm way to old to change now.

I am the other way round. I need the side dots. My Joe Strummer Tele is a bugger to play in low lighting, as I struggle to see the dots.

The bling is nice and sound wise it really doesn't matter since a veneer is paper thin. Now from a psychological and aesthetic point of view, it does make a difference because it makes you feel a bit different when you play this vs say a natural finished guitar, a white guitar, or a black guitar. I am all about looks so this is a thumbs up from me. I also like the little features on the guitar like the access carve by the cutout and the volute on the back of the headstock. Sound wise this sounds like a decent "Modern Guitar" sound. While I like how the pickups look, I am more of an Alnico kinda guy. The only negative I can really say about this guitar is that "Gear 4 Music" needs a better logo, it looks very off on the headstock on this guitar. You could do the G4M in a different font and it would be fine. The logo looks like a knockoff of a "Supreme" sticker and that would look ok on another finish. If this was mine I would cover it with a sticker.

The burl top is stunning.. is the guitar heavy Jonny?. for me enjoyed the Fender sounds, not sure what preset on the Matribox was used but for me far too much bass!.. Anyway looking forward to seeing more GM4 stuff!

I preferred the clean on the Fender to the Matribox, by my does this guitar love some distortion. A gorgeous top, would prefer some covers over the pickup mounting tabs, and as you said Johnny, a darker roasted neck would really set this off. Any chance you could give your tshirt suppliers a kick? They aren't answering my queries about what happened to my order put in on the 25th September.

Nice looking guitar BUT it's not for me. I'm a stuck in the 80's guy. Most of my guitars are van halen striped guitars with some chavels and Kramers. I did get the Firefly evh inspired guitar. It's NICE.
