Brilliant! Good points raised by Richard with the fabric and down compression at his feet. Looks like a lovely spot that, too. I'm looking forward to Scotland!

Yes don't know how you found it but I think it deffo helps to have the height and volume inside to keep your bag lofted ( if down at least ) ?
@Fellmandave1Күн бұрын
@AndrewParkOutdoors The height was fine except lying on my side there was a small amount of down compression due to light contact with bivy.

Welcome to the world of tiny camping Andrew, ideal for Bikepacking it’s just for kipping in 😂 a vent at the foot end would have been good to help regulate the airflow maybe. Look roomy tho 👍

Thanks for posting. I've often thought about a getting a bivvy but would hate getting in or out in the rain - unavoidable here in Scotland and I couldn't imagine putting waterproofs on inside it, let alone packing the gear away dry. I still love them though.

Yes think I'd hate it in rain too, then you need a tarp and then you think why not just take a tent 🙄

Its my favorite sort of camping. I sometimes peg out a loose tarp over the bivy as an impromptu blanket and pull over the head if it rains. everything is about compromise with a set up. one way or the other.

Yes I fancy trying a tarp with it, one to try next 👍

Hi Andrew I would try a wild country coshee micro,ideal for stealth or bike packing ,small pack size, 1.4kg weight .😊
@AndrewParkOutdoors10 сағат бұрын
Ooft at that weight I could take my 2 man tent 🤩

I've got the alpkit bivvy. I use it in summer if I'm riding until dark and want to just camp almost anywhere. Midges and Bivvy's don't really work so for another 500g I can take a tent and hide from the midge. Its good to have options but I think for Scotland usually I take a tent.

I think Richard was a bit envious of my space ( space lol relatively speaking ) 😅

I’ve never used a closed bivvy tent yet, not sure if it’s my thing. Dave, the border rambler loves them though. I said this the time last time you had Richard’s car on the channel but spec wise that’s identical to the one I sold to Arnold Clark a couple of years back. Great taste in cars 👌 That you a convert then? ATVB Robert

Ha I recall that Robert, I'm going to ask him, bet it was yours 👍 deffo will bivi again but gotta be dry

@@AndrewParkOutdoors I’d be curious to know. Their pretty rare especially with the black powder coated alloys
