I find it ironic that this is the best selling G-Shock ever made, yet many folks don’t know how to use it for all the functions that it is capable of, and... it is one of the hardest G shocks to read with respect to simply telling time. I already commented on this video but had one more thing to add. Trying to adjust the “ OVER “ dial it wouldn’t reset to zero on the dial, after attempting to set it a few times I just skipped it. Great tutorial. I figured they didn’t bothered with allowing the button to go back while viewing World Time maybe because the watch let you go backward only when you are about to reset date & time. But still it would’ve been nice for the makers to let the wearer view world time back and forth just for its sake.

My ga-110 is a little bit different than the one in the video. For instance, mine has white lettering and no red ring around the speedometer. Its crazy that it has a speedometer. Also, the background of the digitals on mine are black. I've wanted a G-Shock for decades and finally got one. I'm legitimately proud to have this watch on my wrist. That may seem weird but, when you go through life with little to nothing, its a big deal.

I like the dial colors on the GA 100 but I agree it is nice that the 110 has lume. Good grief, this watch is bigger than my head! :) You possess great knowledge on your reviews. I like Casio's and it's crazy that there are fakes. Great point of mention and explaining how to spot a fake. Very helpful! Does Silvertime carry the MRG?

Awesome! The problem KZbin wide is the word ‘input’ when explaining units of measurement. The phrase should be ‘whatever you have in mind’. The indicators simply keep track of time…we don’t input units into the watch, we impose units onto the timer results.

I have a fake GA-110HR with full functions, even the auto light and 3 buttons test that you mentioned fakes wouldn't do...it works. However the 9 oclock section shows only 2 dots instead of 3, and no luminous on hour and minutes hand. So it's obviously a fake... I'm Surprised at how well they can make fake copies of G-Shocks these days

Notice how the sub dial starts ticking after pressing down on the 3 buttons..well the fake does that too. It even shows 5082.82 after pressing the forward button like you did at 34:34 Update: So these fakes are apparently called 1:1 copy original and they're very popular here in South East Asia. They function the same as the original and can usually be bought at 1/3 of the original price. The only thing they cannot 100% copy is the built quality and water resistant rating.

@@WatchGeek That is true, I forgot to mention that the crystal used on the fake is just a cheap plastic that scratches immediately as soon as my blade touches it and the watch feels very light compared to what the original offers. G-Shocks are renowned as one of the toughest watch for a reason. Simply search up "Toughest or most durable watches" anywhere and a G-Shock will definitely show up on the list. The fakes can't even come close to that... They're just ruining the brand name for G-Shock. Anyone with no experience on G-Shocks will have a bad impression on it when they purchase their first "G-shock"

Also this watch has one more cool feature. Home time swapping: press mode until you reach the world time. Once you are in world time mode, press “adjust & light” button simultaneously and boom your current world time will be swapped to your home time!!

*_Watch Geek, is it possible for a fake G-Shock to have the the functionality of the Test Mode or Diagnostic Mode? I have a few questions about the GA100s that I have. All of them access the Diagnostic Mode, execute the Time Swap in World Time Mode, and in the Stop Watch Mode the two dials for speed measurement work. The issue with the GA100s that I call in question is when setting the time back a few mins the minute and hour hands don't go in reverse to the correct time but forward. Also in WTM when the Time Swap is performed, if the swapped time is less than the WTM time, needless to say, that takes a couple of mins. Other than that though, nothing rings a bell that says spurious._* *_I have seen a few spurious GA100s apparent to the eye. What's telling is, the middle dial is painted or etched into the face and remains stationary. So I either have genuine GA100s which need tune ups or some high class and desirable - I may say - fake GA100s._*

If you have the correct DATE, MONTH AND YEAR it is IMPOSSIBLE for the watch to display the incorrect day of the week. Only if it has analog day display, then you have to reset the hands position before setting everything

Unfortunately you can't, there are positive and negative versions. The only way to change a negative to a positive requires getting a new LCD filter and disassembling the screen

Is there a watch setting to adjust the gray backlight on the digital display? My G-Shock GA -110 5146 has a black backlight on the digital display with white/gray numbers and letters. Amen to that! I couldn't figure out how to get the day and date to show at the same time, 6:20 shows it with one press of the lower right button. That was driving me nuts! I wish the LED screens were backlit instead of the weak little LED at the bottom of the face though, that's next to useless.

Your home time is not correct. You first have to set up your home time correctly and the world times will be ok

I recently purchased this and I love it to death, I can't stop staring at the watch. The model I have uses the negative display which I prefer. I like things that look just a little different. The only thing I don't like about this is that the illumination could be a lot better. In my opinion Casio could have used full illumination or the hands glow in the dark. I say this quite a bit, but Timex makes cheaper watches that have better lum than may others that cost much more money. In all I purchased the watch knowing about the lum and that did not stop me from wanting the watch.

35:08 if you press the FORWARD button a few more times, you can see different cool test screens and also some times you can get some A. LIGHT sensor screen and these can be consider as evidence to confirm if it is in deed a genuine g shock watch.
