That intimate little triangle (if you will) between Meredith, Derek and Cristina is extraordinary. When Derek knew he couldn't help Meredith himself, he immediately got her best friend and put his complete trust in the fact that she could help Mer better than he could. Bonds like that are rare.

It gives a new level to the feelings of Meredith... And Derek is a genius. It was the best way to make Mer et Cristina talk again. They really needed that !

@Cafeblanx The thing is, it is often for pleasure because people have twisted minds and want revenge. If he were improsined for life, he wouldn't harm anyone, but relatives often want to see the responsible getting killed. I agree with you on the rest, though. It takes a lot for me to see beyond MerDer, but this is one of the best scenes of GA. I cried so much. The scene was about a very serious topic that very few TV shows have brought up. And I LOVE how much Derek knows Mer!

Melanie .Looman William was this serial killer, and he didn't want to be executed that way, so Meredith told him that if he was to injure his head. That he could possibly die. And she was trying to help him. Then it didn't work, so she went to see his execution and started sobbing.
