Gaahl's voice is hugely versatile flexible and picturesque in the way he floats easily through this. It's like his voice is in the air all around with no specific point of origin. His voice is the atmosphere. Nobody will ever be able to do a cover of this song and hit the same feeling that Gaahl placed in this.

Excellent observation. I have become a fan of all things Gaahl over the last several months, and have noticed how he morphs according to the atmosphere of the song. A true artist and metal icon.

Gaahl is one of the very few black metal artists who has truly earned the title of an Artist. The more I listen to this the more it is absorbed into my soul. Immensely beautiful this piece of music.
