Gaahl's voice is hugely versatile flexible and picturesque in the way he floats easily through this. It's like his voice is in the air all around with no specific point of origin. His voice is the atmosphere. Nobody will ever be able to do a cover of this song and hit the same feeling that Gaahl placed in this.

Gaahl is one of the very few black metal artists who has truly earned the title of an Artist. The more I listen to this the more it is absorbed into my soul. Immensely beautiful this piece of music. Like Pachelbel's Canon and Toccata en Fugue together. This man I have to meet before I die and thank him for this work of art.

Have you heard all the supposed celebrity artists real voices without auto tunè? That's a sobering education on its own. In much the same way I abhor certain types of music and "artists" and I give my two cents worth about them, you couldn't really care about it because it doesn't matter to you, does it? Gaahl - real voice no auto tune, boss.. A real guy with respect and dignity who mingles with us real people. Not a wannabe high and mighty spoilt talentless twat or trollop who who'd sooner spit in your face than mingle with you...

This is very fresh sounding. The bass is clear and impactful, the guitar tone is atmospheric and brooding, and the vocals are excellent. I hope this direction is what more bands move towards, away from over-compressed tones and insanely triggered drums.
