The year after Gabby was shot, my sister, who lives near Houston, had a major stroke. Fortunately she was able to go to rehab at the same institute where Gabby went (Memorial Hermann?). She did very well in that program, and went back to work part-time after about six months. She too has aphasia and some paralysis, but continues to heal a little bit every year. So proud of her determination. One of the hard parts of aphasia is that people get the idea that because speech is impaired there is intellectual disability as well, and this is not the case.

Yeah, it's fairly surprising how few people understand that difficulties with language don't necessarily reflect cognitive impairment. @@HazyHaydn I think assault weapons are unnecessary for a civilian. Other weapons should be kept but just regulated more strictly so unstable people don’t get them. That is my opinion. In New Zealand they banned assault weapons and have had no mass shootings since then.
