For anyone who has been confused by the Malta videos, no I did not leave Greece and go back to Malta. I filmed so much on my last two days in Malta a month ago that the footage got backed up. I decided to jump ahead to the Greek videos and then go back and edit the rest of the Malta series later. As you can see at the end of this video I'm at the airport in Malta, where I'm catching my flight to Athens to begin the Greece trip. The next video will jump back to my more current adventures in Greece. But I won't be on the Greek islands for much longer, planning to catch a flight to somewhere different very soon. Hint: I'm heading for the mountains, to a country I've visited once before, six years ago.

Gee, someday those huge mountain oasis gardens in Morrocco might be a fairly convenient non-schengen winter retreat. Maybe the mountainous marvel many believe is the world's oldest managed sustainable agriculture system might be expanded and replicated? Eric Wallace from Atlas Obscura wrote a neat article titled “The Moroccan Food Forest That Inspired an Agricultural Revolution”: There's also many springs that Ethiopian volunteers brought back to life when huge mountain areas there were reforested - mentioned by John D Liu in the film Green Gold. There's so many degraded lands that are being re-created by Ecosystem Restoration Coop campers. It's really great there are 1000's of volunteers contributing 10€/month now. It would be so great to visit and catch a view. 🌲😎🌲

In Malta every village has its Patron Saint. Village feasts are celebrated thru summer. The flags you saw represent the village festa/Saint.😊

Ah, Tarxien temples! I walk my dog by them every day in the evening :P The flags that you commented on are village feast flags. Tarxien has the local parish feast around the first week of June, so that's what those were.

Hi Gabriel, an intense day of viewing some incredible sites in Malta and it falls into the category of hundreds of thousands when the lands were closer together Malta must have been a crossing point for many travelers. This area connecting the nearby lands must have been a midway point of civilization very widespread throughout the region of the Mediterranean the ancient sites are remarkable like those of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey which are descendants of the Hittites while the Mycenaean are Greek descendants. There are only traces of history that only go back a few thousand years.
