It has the world's largest crystal chandelier weighing 4.5 tonnes. Nice city, amazing and picturesque colourful old town (I called it Bulgarian-Ottoman Alsace). I was there in June after I visited Rose Festival in Kazanlak nearby. Have a nice time and try some amazing Shopska salad. On the end of September, I am going to your country Sweden, to see Stockholm's amazing museums, nice town of Sigtuna and university Uppsala. It is just outrageous that commuter train station Arlanda Central has that huge station access fee of 120 SEK every time and that Arlanda Express is such rip off, so I am taking buses (Flygbussarna, SL and UL) instead.
@ErvuJukl3 ай бұрын
If you hurry you can get to Istanbul in time!
@vaultkeeper23 ай бұрын
@@Ojstra You can also take the local bus from Arlanda Airport to nearby Märsta and SL train from Märsta to Stockholm! This is actually the way many locals do it. Down in southern Sweden where I live, most people fly primarily from Copenhagen Airport in Denmark, where the train is not a ripoff and there is no access fee to it's train station. We have our own Malmö Airport in the south but that a minor airport where international flights are limited to charters and a handful of Wizz Air flights, fun fact, Malmö the city is closer to Copenhagen Airport than to the airport assigned to it! Stockholm is an amazing city and is the only Nordic capital with a preserved medieval Old Town. The museums used to be free entrance until our current conservative government took over. It's also the cheapest Nordic capital, cheaper now than certain places in for example Croatia. Enjoy your time in Stockholm!
@Ojstra3 ай бұрын
@@UffeUlferts , for what I have read about this, officially private companies built the connection between Arlanda Airport and public railway system while Swedish government didn't subsidize it as they didn't see connection to airport as basic citizen's right in the country. So that fee is somewhat to pay to have that switch to the public railway system from Arlanda Airport. Unofficially, Arlanda Express (another private company that runs only from Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central Station without that fee but with rip-off price) doesn't want competition with far lower prices for regular commuter trains from the same place. Locals found the solution to avoid this access station fee to go to nearby Märsta with bus and from there to Stockholm with SL commuter train, the best with only one SL ticket as both bus and commuter train are from SL company and even basic SL ticket holds for 75 minutes. I also considered that option but saw Flygbussarna bus from Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central Station with slightly higher price and without any transfers between vehicles better for me in that direction. For Sigtuna I will take regular SL bus on 579 line and for Uppsala I will take regular UL bus on 801 line as it seems for now. On one hand, this is a paradox in ecologically friendly country Sweden as many people prefer busses from airport now because of lower prices and travel with bus is less ecologically friendly than it would be with bigger trains. However, this is not the only case with airport station fee, similar is in Brussels Zaventem train station where it is fee of 6,70 € to get to public railway system from the airport, so Belgium is another paradox on the airport (although, like Sweden, with very good and effective public railway system, I can confirm that). Good that it is not done so in your land.

Hi Gabe, you may have more days in the Schengen when you next plan to return, the rule is count back 180 days from the date you going to leave on your next visit, long as it does not exceed 90 days you good.
@GabrielTravelerVideos3 ай бұрын
Yes, I realized that I was a little wrong about how it works. But not sure if it would make any difference in my case because of the time I was there in the spring.
@EatMyTracers3 ай бұрын
I think you’re misunderstanding the schengen zone rules a bit. It’s 90 days in a 180 day rolling period. So the 180 day period is always changing.
@laudermarauder3 ай бұрын
Yes, the wording from 25:50 does make it sound like there is a 'reset' once the first 180-day period ends, resulting in a fresh 180-day period beginning from that point and a fresh allowance of 90 days stay within that period. As you point out, that's not how it works. It's a rolling 180-day window calculated retrospectively from the current day.
@GabrielTravelerVideos3 ай бұрын
Yes, but I'm pretty sure that it's still valid to count 180 days forward from when you initially entered and then make sure you don't go over 90 days in that 180 day period. I entered the Czech Republic on April 16th of this year. That was the first time I was in Europe this year, so the last time I was in Europe in 2023 doesn't matter now. 180 days from that point of entry is October 13th, but let's call it October 14th to be safe. I need to keep track of my days since I've gone in and out multiple times and make sure I don't spend more than 90 days in that period. Then on October 14th, the days that I entered last spring start "rolling off", you could say, so each day that rolls off gives me a day that I can now spend inside the Schengen. But that's a confusing way to try to calculate it. Basically, once 180 days has passed from my first point of entry, then it's all irrelevant and I'm basically starting over with a new 180 day period and as a result a new 90 days that I can stay inside. If I got anything wrong there feel free to explain.
@mn74863 ай бұрын
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I think it’s not exactly so, as in some cases you could overrun the 90 days with your calculation. For example, if you entered the Czech Republic in April and only spent 5 days there and then exited the Schengen zone and re-entered three months later in July and spent 85 days until October 13, according to your calculation on October 14 you could start another 90 days in the Schengen zone, so you could stay for another 90 days from October 14 until January 13. But that would mean that you would have spent 85 days + 90 days = 175 days within a 180 day rolling period in the Schengen zone if you count as a rolling 180 days the period from July till January. In other words, you cannot spend most of your 90 day allowance towards the second half of the first 180 day period and then spend most of the 90 day allowance in the beginning of the following 180 day period, that is why the 180 day period is calculated on a rolling basis.
@GabrielTravelerVideos3 ай бұрын
@@mn7486 I see what you mean. For example, if you entered on January 1st, stayed for only one day, left, then came back and entered again on April 1st, stayed for 89 days until the end of June, left, then the 180 day period ended around July 1st, it wouldn't make sense that you could go back in on July 2nd and stay for another 90 days straight. So basically, you need to make sure that whenever you leave, if you count backwards 180 days then you won't have spent more than 90 days in that period.
@zmarcz373 ай бұрын
"The 90-day period is determined by a rolling calendar system, which means that at any time of the year you must be able to go back to the previous 180 days and prove that you have spent less than 90 days in the EU/Schengen area."

Welcome to İstanbul, just so you know, when you're in Istanbul and set a route on Google Maps, if you choose the public transport option, it will show you which metro and bus you need to take. There was a metro station where you got off the bus, and from there you could have reached Taksim with one transfer.

I’d love to see more of the Turkish west coast. Just a very cool place and very different from the usual media picture of Turkey as this Islamic country

I was in that area a few years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3fWp6tsfNFog9E

It's a de facto Islamic country now, few liberal areas don't make up for that.

I think you got the 90 day limit wrong. the 180 days is a sliding window not a fixed period. You got 90 days allowed in the LAST 180 days.
@DeputyDog-mh1yo3 ай бұрын
No. The 180 period begins upon the initial entry. It doesn't float.
@GabrielTravelerVideos3 ай бұрын
I see what you mean. Basically on whatever day you leave, make sure you didn't stay over 90 days in the past six months.
@razisn3 ай бұрын
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Yes but you implied that the 90 days are reset automatically 180 days after the first entry. This is incorrect. Days allowed are added every day you are away up to the max of 90 in the last 180 days. Then they are deducted one by one as long as you are in. For example if you have stayed 89 days out of the last 180 (regardless how many times you have been in and out) and you leave for 4 days then you will have 5 days allowed if after the 4 days you return.
@razisn3 ай бұрын
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo You are confused. Of course the 180 per starts upon first entry but it becomes a sliding window thereafter. See my reply to Gabriel above.
