So what do you think, is this northern India or northeast India? There were comments under the last video saying that this is the northeast. But according to Wikipedia the northeast region includes the seven sister states plus Sikkim, but not West Bengal: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_India It doesn't matter to me, I'm just trying to get it right.

This series on India is especially fascinating to me because I’ve heard of Darjeeling so much but never watched videos on it. I’ve only spent 2 weeks in Bangalore on business and have not seen much else of India. Hoping to go back. One random place I have been (while on military R&R from Djibouti) was Zanzibar. Flew past Kilimanjaro while connecting in Nairobi. May be an interesting trip for you if you venture to that area of the world. Enjoying all of your trips immensely. Happy and safe travels!

Hi Gabriel, you have such a natural feel traveling around these small towns there really is a nice vibe to these places. Tidbit: Even Indian tourists stumble into Kalimpong by mistake. The Scots introduced the bagpipe marching band in Kalimpong in 1889. Since then, almost every school in Kalimpong has a bagpipe marching band. Kumudini Homes school bagpipe band represented India at the military show at Basel Tattoo in Switzerland in 2022. In the 70s this was the hippie town. The hippies left their music cassettes behind. This was the psychedelic town. The locals got introduced to Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, ZZ top, Grateful Dead, America, CSNY, LedZep, DeepPurple,GrandFunk etc. back then :)

One tiny bit advice: If looking for a ride out of town, head to the local transport hub regardless of it taking you away from your your destination. How to spitball travel in the Himalayas, by Gabriel Traveler. Paraphrasing, "I was going to (Town X) but there is a strike, but no big deal. Instead I will go to Kalimpang. I'm not sure yet how to do that but welcome to the Himalayas." I wonder if Gabe realizes that his spur-of-the-moment moments put us on the edge of our seats. Seems clear that he will be ok because he is posting this video but we don't know for sure. We learn that he has even booked two nights in Kalimpang despite not knowing how to get there. I once knew a group of electrical engineers, nice guys who had been taking their vacations together since forever ago. They actually planned and booked their travels several years (y-e-a-r-s) in advance. That kind of caution is a great thing because it means we can be fairly certain that their carefulness will keep the lights on for us. But Gabriel is at the total opposite end of the spectrum. I really liked those engineers but I wasn't interested in watching their vacation videos. I'll take the drama of Gabriel's stuff instead, even if now and then it means sitting in the dark.

You shld explore Delo hill, along with Dr. Graham's Home campus ( famous school), Durpin ( it's got a Buddhist monastery) , golf course and view point. Kpg is famous fr flowers, exotic orchids and greenhouses. Try out the many amazing eateries n cafes. The food, the local ones, are very pure and organic. There used to be a dairy that made amazing toffee, and lollipops...it was founded by Swiss Welfare Dairy, set up in the 1950s by a Swiss Jesuit, Father Andre Butty. You can still find it perhaps...locals will know... Enjoy ✌️

It's honestly mind blowing to me that you have figured out a way to make a living traveling around the world, being a professional globe-traveling wanderer. I could never do that. My body would be dead after a few weeks. It's truly shocking to me that you have the physical capacity and endurance to continue doing this lifestyle indefinitely. I wonder what you would do when you decide that your body is done with this phase of your life, how you will take all of this life experience and turn it into the next chapter... On another note, I was just thinking, you should get sponsored by Bedrock Sandals. They should give you a new pair of their sandals and you feature feet shots, walking around wearing them on your global travels. That would be cool.
@GabrielTravelerVideos Жыл бұрын
It's mind-blowing to me too. This job is too good to be true, but it's real. No boss, complete creative freedom, I go wherever I want whenever I want, work as much or as little as I feel like. But as you imply, it isn't without challenges. I do get burnt out, then I head back to the US and visit family and friends and take a break from the adventures until I'm ready for another one. No idea what I would do if I wasn't traveling since my channel won't work if I'm staying in one place, but I'd figure something else out. Maybe do KZbin with a different focus, or something completely different. Bedrock sandals, never heard of them, will keep my eyes open. These ones need to be replaced.
