The wrestlers in their brackets aren’t elite this year. That’s why there isn’t much competition making Spencer and Gable look like Gods.

@@jesvinmathew5103 His first year was insane: Tomasello, Suriano, Rivera, Bresser, Lizak, Piccininni...to name a few. This season, no one not named Spencer Lee would even be able to AA. Terrible combination: all time great wrester against an all time bad weight class. With Gable, we know that Mason Parris the real deal.

What sucks about heavyweights is we lose a majority of the best athletes to football. I knew a guy like that, smashed everyone at state for 2 years, complete dominance. Iowa athlete of the year. Left wrestling to play D1 football.

100%. What sets gable apart is that he's a world class athlete. Maybe the only one in the world who wrestles. I have no problem believing that he was contacted by NFL teams after winning gold.

Even at the pro level, you are not relegated to a weight class, there are hundreds and even thousands of players who make money playing football and not having to be the best. Most people go to football because it is the easier way to feel accomplished.

@@ogot344 he didn’t have many matches and Parris had way more and was plowing through everyone else. Everyone was suddenly believing Parris was better and he got the #1 ranking. Held until Gable beat him. It’s amazing how yes Gable was definitely better than Parris and Cass last year but it looks he has widened the gap big time this season.

Cass constantly slaps Gables face, Parris jaws off on twitter, McDermmott was taunting him this year at Rutgers. Is GS confident, yes but he does have the skills to be that way. I see a ton of negative comments towards him on social media. It’s like a viscous cycle....almost like it creates a chip on his shoulder. Any way you slice it, it’s wrestling, not a sport for the meek.

That’s what this was all about. That and the continual doubters just like we read here daily. He actually was very methodical in every match this season...hardly a peep or extra antics, just went out and kicked butt. The last two seasons people keep thinking Mason was gonna dethrone him and posted so. He was proving a point. Look at it this way, he’s like the Tiger Woods of golf, he might be cocky but he has the goods to back it up.
