Caramba, eu acompanhei toda a manhã de competição! Sou locutor de uma rádio aqui em vitória no Es, durante o meu turno de trabalho, eu estava enlouquecido, gritando, adrenalina a mil, torcendo pelo Brasil, é claro! Mas eu sou fã do Medina, eu vibrava como final de copa do mundo. Agora revendo essa bateria, cara, eu me emocionei.. Eu não sou surfista, tive a oportunidade de aprender a surfar, pelo fato de ter Ubatuba como minha terra natal, meu primo, e colegas surfam, mas o medo do mar me impediu, mas eu me apaixonei loucamente por esse esporte.

Medina sensacional e essa final foi um espetáculo para o mundo ver! Interessante foi ver as batidas verticais e floaters de Medina (e os demais) com queda livre serem valorizadas pelos julgadores como devem ser, mas contra JF em Bells a juizada desconsiderou isso nas duas melhores ondas de Medina. Anomalias que merecem ser corrigidas.

Never say never. Somehow I started rooting for Medina during this heat. What the heck??? Such a whiny little surfbrat, but my goodness.... That truly was Amazing surfing by him, there was far more distance between the two competitors than the judge’s scoring reflected... For me, the best surfing since JJF’s Margeret River masterclass a couple of years ago.
