I have to say that looking back, I was a teen in the 90s, the world was quitter. I think if you took a 20 something from back then ad drop them in 2012 they would lose their mind in all of the media and flood of information. Half of the music on Soundcloud is hardly passable. And what's paid to be popular is disposable. So i'll say that you're right in some ways, the 90s was a better time.

Yesterday, I was at a dance performance. The owner of the dancestudio used this song as theme of the show "Dreams". Back in the days, like 16/17 years ago, we began with dance at the same school, both as students. Now she has her own dancestudio and her own students. The final of the performance was at this song and she danced her own little piece, SHE ROCK! I couldn't hold my tears back 🥺🫶 Girl, seriously, I wish I could be more proud than this.

Always loved this song. The extremely beautiful decadence of the video, the sincere, intimate vocal and the absolutely gorgeous combination of pop/r'nb rhythms with classical instrumentation. But above all, the optimism that our dreams aren't completely hopeless.

They can come true They can come true Move a step closer You know that I want you I can tell by your eyes That you want me too Just a question of time I knew we'd be together And that you'd be mine I want you here forever Do you hear what I'm saying Gotta say how I feel I can't believe you're here But I know that you're real I know what I want And baby it's you I can't deny my feelings Because they are true Dreams can come true Look at me babe, I'm with you You know you gotta have hope You know you gotta be strong Dreams can come true Look at me babe, I'm with you You know you gotta have hope You know you gotta be strong I've seen you sometimes On your own and in crowds I knew I had to have you My hopes didn't let me down Now you're by my side And I feel so good I've nothing to hide Don't feel that I ever could Do you hear what I'm saying Gotta say how I feel I can't believe you're here But I know that you're real I know what I want And baby it's you Can't deny my feelings Because they are true Dreams can come true Look at me babe, I'm with you You know you gotta have hope You know you gotta be strong Dreams can come true Look at me babe, I'm with you You know you gotta have hope You know you gotta be strong I'm not making plans for tomorrow Let's live for tonight I know I want you baby So hold me so tight Put your arms around me You make me feel so safe Then you whisper in my ear That you're here to stay Dreams can come true Look at me babe, I'm with you You know you gotta have hope You know you gotta be strong

I'm so grateful that 90's were my formative decade. Born in 1982, so my generation was lucky enough to pick up the best from both worlds. 90's was the last decade when music was made with attitude, originality and creativity. But when internet came, and social media/smartphones we were young enough to accept and incorporate those into our lives. Generation prior were too old to make such a huge change and generation that came after can't begin to imagine that life was great and even possible without them. So, as I said, so lucky to be member of the "transitional generation". 🫶🫶🫶 to all Xennials around the 🌍. ✌️

I wouldn't quite say Gen X were too old for technology. We were there learning how it all worked together and had started hacking into websites (no apps in those days) while you were learning to walk.... We also ran totally wild and feral, and had the best of the 80s 90s music

@@rottsandspots I kind of ment more on previous generation. On my parents generation. Boomers. Of course I didn't mean Xers are too old, so sorry I wasn't precised enough. Half of my friends are gen X. Great generation. Also transitional, just Xennials are kind of a smaller niche. 1❤️

Hi Jozhster., Sounds like you have been familiar with the singer and her exquisite songs. There is no evidence that you live in London ( I do not now),But an unusually special and wonderful occasion for me,was when she appeared LIVE in Campus Travel shop,Victoria in May 1993,during the David Rodigan show on Kiss-FM (PAs and competitions the Advert had aired for days). That in itself was great! But,on answering accurately a question on Euro railways (Dennis O''Brien),I ended up on Line 4 on the broadcast stage, where Line 5 won the Prize to Australia and I got runner-up prize ie "Me and a guest @ Club UK" (then called Hollywoods) in Wandsworth the following night;I took a friend as the guest. Cheers James Jozhster I hope you get to see her live one day. That is assuming you have not already done so.The Travel shop location was very intimate.
