Okay. This is intense. I met Charles Pettigrew in Seattle in...'99? He was playing as the lead singer of the Tom Tom Club (Genius of Love) I met him after the show and i talked with him for a long time. At the end of the conversation, we were both in tears. He told me about constant longing for approval after having succeeded in the music industry (with this beautiful song...) and then having been "forgotten." He wept that he couldn't provide for his BElOVeD mother as well as he used to you, and the burden of the sorrow. I reassured him as much as I could, as a relative stranger, and I reassurd him that his gift was absolutely eternal and endless. He had met with all success/exceeding boundaries of beauty and art and music. He was so thankful. He held my hand and we cried together. I hear he passed away a couple of years hence. I will never forget my encounter with Charles Pettigrew. He touched me. I told him that too. You've "touched" people. Forever.

I was 16 years old to this time, and my best friend ( I met her with 8 years old) and me was listening always to this song. It was a summer hit. It was so refreshing to this time. She died with 19 years old and killed by her boyfriend. It was our best time, and hearing this just brings our good memories back. R.I.P. Katja 🕊 R.I.P. Charles 🕊

Uh no. Music today is no more or less good or trash then it was then. You only think it is because you were in a happier stage in life. Older people always think the music of their time was better and current music is ‘trash’, but it’s far from the truth. You just sound old and out of touch.🔱
