As an African-American woman, I have worked in Hollywood on the corporate side for over a decade and had to fight for my rights to get promoted, which eventually resulted in a legal situation. Interestingly enough, I never felt underpaid for my positions as I worked hard to determine its worth and ensure that I was compensated accordingly. Many of my bosses even commented on how well I was paid. However, my challenges arose when it came to getting promoted and breaking the ceiling. That said, I agree with Vivica Fox's perspective on this issue, and I think Taraji H. needs to find a better manager.

I was blessed to have seen The Color Purple on off broadway and it was absolutely amazing. The talent on that stage had everyone in tears. The book and the original film are lovely however I am ready for a new story. We've got too many stories to tell that are far more beautiful and positive. Again, I think Vivica gave the classiest response that she could have given in the moment. Hopefully, she will make things right with Taraji because we must stay in support of one another for all of the necessary reasons.

Why is there so much backlash for Vivica? No one owes you anything! Taraji nor Gabriel are paying Vivica's bills. Vivica was asked a question and she responded; she never disparaged Taraji and the issues that Taraji is having. She clearly said to each its own and wished her well.
