Just for the sake of knowledge, the Georide Ballad is an old english song en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geordie_(ballad) so Gabry Ponte remixed a remake made by De Andrè back in the days, but this on wikipedia is the original song. Even in this video some words are not correct. I agree on the voice, kind of weird, tho

In reality, Geordie is a traditional English folk ballad from the 17th century, which was made into a modern song by American singer Joan Baez in 1962 (as you can hear in this recording kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJSlh4p_fd-NiM0 ). Fabrizio De André then later translated the lyrics into Italian, in 1966, and made the liberal change from 16 to 6 deers to adapt that line to the meter (along with a few minor adjustments). There are 16 deers in the original 1600s ballad, and even if Gabry Ponte's Italian version of Geordie uses the Italian lyrics written by De André, this one inherits the very same melody and lyrics that existed before De André's 1966 version.
