She had a distorted view of marriage - a marriage is between two equals, and a union based upon love. Her relationships seem to involve a lot of objectification. She seems like a sweet, confused and very young woman. Her death was tragic.

I think it was realistic. We’re mammals. “Love” is why someone should get married but there is always a trade off. Typically men work hard, and women take care of the men. At least back when this was filmed. There isn’t anything wrong with it we’ve just been told that traditional roles are wrong. Masculinity and femininity are a divine mix, regardless of what you were born as. ❤

What if this old friend was the one who murdered her. The way she spoke about him was as if this dude really liked her but she didn't feel the same but she knew he would giver her anything she wanted..what if he snapped that night. Just a what if. sad how she died and how she was foumd.

You just go right ahead and keep on asking those all important questions. Keep the hope alive in finding this creep that murdered her if he himself is still alive. Atleast she's never forgotten.

From what I could presume, she seemed like she had borderline personality disorder. That doesn’t make her the villain, quite the opposite as most people with this have been through horrific trauma from early childhood to adolescence and it makes sense she’d have it. Sometimes I think she could’ve had a manic episode or a fit of rage and it freaked him out. I do think it was actually a combination of transphobia and that.

I really miss this era, it was when i was 21 and just starting out on partying and or just hanging out in NYC, i used to have this friend that's gay and he took me to the pier to hang (After leaving TWO POTATO) and it was so very chill...even though the crowd hangin out was 99% gay ...it was still super chill because no one knew if you weren't gay and so peeps just chilled ,got zooted or drunk...if you walked further out it was more darker and that's where all the wildness was happening(ima just leave it at that, go there in your own minds) but back up near the lighted area there'd be girls like Venus there all over the place, my friend would point them out and watched my face as i realized it, cause i'd be like NO...NO WAY!!! I was (and still am, 50 now) a person that's not afraid to venture to different places (iv'e seen some wild wild shit happen in NYC) cause that's the experience of life, never met Venus but the ones i did meet tried me and i just politely said no, no drama to it at all with me, iv'e seen dudes get gully, and my friend as well as i would be like :WELL HE KNEW WHO HUNG OUT DOWN HERE,(my friend said) HE'S PROBABLY ON THE "DL" AND GOT "SPOOKED". But anyway r.i.p to you MS.VENUS!!!!

I don't know the name of the beautiful person at the very beginning of this clip with the black hat and mink coat getting her gloves put on but this is one of the best looking individuals from the documentary. It make me sad to see Venus and know what happened to her. It's important for transgenders to be who they truly are but they have to be honest with others they may have sexual relationships with so that people have the option not to get involved. Some folks become violent if they feel as if they have been tricked. It's never alright to hurt or kill anyone though.

@Noctem2 thats what happens when kids arent validated in the world. they try and fill voids with material while getting played by others who have the monitary b.s that doesnt have anything to do with love or Truly being wanted other than just for sex. venus did the best she knew and didnt have the resources or confidence than to do what was taught the quick and easy way! this world seriously needs real love spread around.

What a time to be alive although there was the aids pandemic this was cool no technology
@davidshep457 ай бұрын
There was nothing wonderful about being gay in the 80s. It was the height of the aids epidemic. I was in my early 20s and remember the loneliness and isolation of trying to work and survive in a world of non exceptance by day and going to a dark hole in the wall gay bar on the weekends. Revealing your sexuality could mean losing your job or housing. Gay youth today have nothing to complain about. It's wonderful to see them living freely and granted the legal right to marriage. I never thought I would live to see that happen.
