As a colorblind person, yeah those mirrors are hard to see, even yanfei's stacks too. Mihoyoverse needs to start putting in stacks indicator in the game's HUD

You just have to remember then, 1 mirror from charged atk, 2 from his E. It's okay if you didn't get 3 mirrors, if you using his burst with 3 mirrors, you didn't get any dendro infusion after that. But 3 mirrors make him do more dmg and If you want to maintain his dendro infusion: Ult Q > Normal atk 5x > Charge Atk > Normal atk 5x > E > Normal atk 5x > Repeat to Ult Q

From most ppl replied, his best mirror indicator is his mirror attack, If its rain sword = 3 stack if its boomerang sword/2hit sword = 2 stack if its single slash sword = 1 stack When you at single slash sword, you just need to deduce that he's about to run out stack in 3 second at most.

On regard of indicators, I believe Heizou's punch circle/star is very good in telling at which level of power a skill is, it's simple yet elegant and effective in any situation, so it makes me wonder why Alhaitham's mirrors couldn't have been just a little bit clearer. Wanderer's bell above his head blends quite a bit with his ring while in flight mode so it's a bit hard to see when it will ring. It does makes a sound, and yet Heizou's punch manages to be clearer on that regard as well. Raiden is an extreme example, her burst power is indicated at the back of all characters on field for a very long time, so it's hard to miss it. Well, sometimes I misjudge and do the Heizou punch at level 3 instead of 4 in the heat of battle, but I don't believe it happens nearly often enough to be a hindrance.

the best indicator with Alhaitham's mirror is his projection, the projections only happen every 1.6s and the mirror lasts 4s, which means when you see that two mirror projections of the same level happened, that mirror is about to disappear so you either CA or E to get another mirror Example, you casted his burst and gained 3 mirrors, then begin doing NAs unti; two falling swords projection happen and then either cast skill or CA to gain another mirror then keep doing that pattern

Considering that is a fixed time for mirror expiration, I think this is a temporary problem. For the others there counts depend on ICD and possible generation so they need more visible indicators. The optimal rotation for refreshing the mirrors is simple and players can pick it up easily.

for managing mirrors, i've found it very effective to just watch his burst CD timer. his burst takes ~2s to cast and the mirrors generate after 2 seconds, so the first mirror will expire at 10 seconds on the timer and the next one at 6. i've been using this since around when i got him and it works great!

I won my 50/50 with him!!! I tried him with EM Raiden, 4pc DW Yaoyao for Quicken and it's definitely satisfying. Can't wait to try him with other party options. He is so smooth to play! His animations are fluid and I love his quick swap playstyle. He is definitely flashy and fun, not a must pull IMO but as a husbando collector, he is more than welcome in my party.

Great video there mate! Everything we need to know well summarized and explained! I'll never forgive HYV for putting him and Yelan in the same patch, I can't afford to spend any money in this game because everything in my country is SUPER expensive for a gacha "haha get lucky" videogame and Al Haitham is one of the three Sumeru characters I was most excited about since the early leaks, specially after his role in the archon quest. Guess I'll be waiting and saving for his rerun and Baizhu's debut soon. And the mirrors are indeed extremely small and hard to see, specially when there's a lot of stuff going on in the field with the dendro reactions. Tons of names, numbers, cores, everything is very distracting and very green. I think they should put three symbols next to your HP bar on the HUD so you know how many mirrors you have currently. It definetly does not sound like a hard thing to do, but we're talking about a company that didn't had the decency to put separate maps for caves and underground areas when a lot of stuff in Sumeru happens under ground level, both in the desert and the forest. Still have a faint spark of hope that they'll do some large QoL improvements to their game someday tho.

He actually has wide variety of weapons for a DPS. If you want Alhaitham to do spread go EM weapon, Iron sting and umbrella works (though this one is single target), if you only run Alhaitham as single dendro in a team give him festering desire if you have it or favonious sword and Harbinger of Dawn works really well on him especially if you have Kuki in your team. But if you have access to crystals you can use blackcliff sword. I skipped his weapon since I have jade cutter and mistsplitter thats what I'm using on him and he still does a lot of damage. I'm considering pulling his weapon but honestly I have way too much primodal jade spear one r5 and another 3 extra so I'm not risking it.

He seems like an interesting character, and as much as I love dendo, I already have a dendro DPS (C2 tighnari) and be works good enough for me. I skipped Raiden banner since I was out of primos, now I'm saving my garenteed for Xiao. I'm obsessed with anemo characters, I already have Venti, Wanderer, and Kazuha (no jean). I have good enough characters who've got me far into the game (such as Bennett, Kazuha, Yelan, and Zhongli). My only characters on my want list is Nahida & Raiden and maybe any other character that releases. I really want an electro 5 star, so we'll see. Alhaitham is cool over all, but I have other characters I'd rather have.

❤ A team that I'm using is: alhaitham, fischl, kuki and kazuha. Fischl is equipped w r5 Favonius and Kazuha has r1 Xiphos and the team runs VERY smoothly so if you have er issues, you can run that team. Kuki is equipped with 4 piece Deepwood. ❤ Another team you can try is the usual hyperbloom team with alhaitham, xingqiu, kuki but in the fourth slot, you put fischl w Favonius and Deepwood instead. Again, it's very smooth because the energy is constantly flowing.

An important thing for Quickbloom (Quicken + Hyperbloom) teams is that Xingqiu applies too much Hydro. Watch the element on the enemy. If you lose the Quicken aura, you don't do Spread and Aggravate damage. Yelan and Kokomi would be better. If you could somehow balance the energy, Mona might actually be decent in QS teams.

I'm also running him on double dendro and double electro, but my team it's a little different fron yours and has move AoE cover. Alhaitham (Gilded), Nahida (Deepwood), Beidou (Noblesse) and Kuki (Tenacity), both Beidou and Kuki have Fav weapons, granted I didn't got to test this team very much yet since I've been playing coop since his release, but I did played the team a lot before with Tighnari on Haitham's place and noone seems to have ER problems, Nahida and Beidou hit hard too and it's been really fun so far.

isn't Lisa hard to play with Alhaitham? Doesn't she wan to be on field too? My alhaitham has 145 ER but even with that he have ER issue with Fischl, beidou/kuki and yaoyao. I think DMC with favonius will be better than yaoyao. In the end Nahida is the best ofc since she game tons of ER and EM buff. I jut dump her with him if she's not needed in another team. Else I'll just use Raiden or DMC lol

I am bit baffled why youtubers don't recommend Sacrificial Sword for him. I know it may not have the highest DPS potential, but it has the ER mainstat and passive which resets your cooldown on skill which makes playing and sustaining his mirrors much easier!

Its good if you really want to use him on field for a long time. But you need to remember that his E is a 1 hit skill. Even with sacrificial r5, you have 30% chance that the skill won't reset and you need to wait 'bout 18 second to recast his skill and that's a damage loss considering sacrificial have low stats.

@@darkrow8488 Yes, even with R5 the chance to reset is "only" 80%, but this is meant more as a way to sustain his 3 mirrors rather than getting in the second cast. Also it can be beneficial just because of his long cooldown, sometimes you rotate through your supports too quickly for his skill to be ready naturally, so "keeping the extra charge" from Sacrificial ultimately makes him easier to play and actually makes him playable as an unga bunga character rather than always keeping in mind his perfect rotatation and what not :)

It looks like you'll have to switch his playstyle and team depending on the enemies in the abyss. I mean the rotation for on field Alhaitham is so strict that you'll probably miss out quite some damage on multiple enemies so quickswap probably will be better, however against bosses as showcased on field will probably be stronger

I'm a new f2p player who started a month ago just for AlHaitham, I had saved 115 wishes ever since, and I pulled him C1 today after 30 wishes starting from pity 0 lol. The 3rd 10 pulls gave me two AlHaithams + yaoyao. This made me so happy.

I really wish they hadn't nerfed his quick swap potential. I don't particularly like the on-field playstyle. Oh well, at least deciding to skip Wanderer and the questions about Al-haitham during beta led met to pull for Ayato who is exactly what I wanted for my account. I can always get Al-haitham when they rerun him if I change my mind.

btw, you dont need to countdown the mirrors. Just renew with elemental skill or charge attack a second after the second projection attacks happens. And most of the time you will do 3 normal attacks and dash cancel to do another 3 combo attacks. The last attacks from his combo are slow.

I'll be honest: I'll pull until I get 2 Yunjins and then I'll take take a free copy of her during the event to get her C6, if I end up getting Yaoyao and/or Al Haytham in the process so be it. Then I'll try and get Dehya...if I like her gamplay. BTW I'm guaranteed to get a limited 5* in around 80 pulls UPDATE got something like 10 Yaoyao, 1 Al Haytham and only 1 Yunjin...only time will tell how good these pulls have been

Great review as always! Just one question, how about his interruption resistance? Since a lot of on fielders has this issue. I know there wasn't any mention of it in his talents but its the same as Nilou, she has increased interruption resistance during E, with same value as Cyno (0.5) despite no mention of it in Nilou's kit EDIT: just checked wiki data and it seems he has no interruption resistance, but being a melee character might've helped since they generally have higher poise bar than ranged characters

Honestly I’m pretty conflicted. I absolutely love Alhaitham’s character, but I’m just not sure if I should get him or not. From what I’ve seen, he’s nothing that’s super crazy, especially since I already have other top tier DPS characters. I used up a lot of pulls on Wanderer (which I kinda regret) and now I’m wondering if I should bother with Alhaitham or if I should just save up so I can get a guaranteed Yelan. I also really want to get Staff of Homa. Hu Tao is my main, so I feel like Yelan and Homa would be more beneficial for my account overall. There’s also Dehya coming in 3.5 who I really want. I’m genuinely contemplating skipping him.

Yelan would be much more beneficial foramy account. As for Homa, I guess you can try for it after getting Yelan since both Homa and Aqua are good weapon. And Dehya looks like to be a good semi on-field character so be mindful of her too

Also Use E Gain 2 Mirrors, Charged to Gain +1 (Passive CD 12s), Use it till the End 12s, Then Burst With 0 Mirror to Gain 3 Mirror for More 12s, Skill and Passive Ready Again for +12s, 36s of Uptime (if He Has ER Enough maybe he can use his Burst Again?) Not like the most useful thing to do on abyss but its really interesting

I, for one, don't give 2 shits about the Abyss. I hate it. I have all the top meta characters and I can 12-3 it for sure, but I just dislike the idea of timed, laboratory-styled dungeons. For me, true endgame is in the open world. Yes the mobs are weak af if compared to Abyss, but I like to feel powerful anyway.

He needs some er but it's not some massive issue as long as you get some in substats. For an F2P option use DMC/Collei/Yaoyao with Deepwood and a Favonius weapon. He works in Bloom (with Nilou), Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Spread teams. Granted Hyperbloom is the best option but the others can still 36* the abyss if you want to play them.
