I also read that book about 46 years ago ( Betrayal in the city by Francis Imbuga) even we had a drama on it.(Op my former schoolmate CS Agriculture can remember). Betrayal In The City by Francis Imbuga. It was one of the Set Books in my Literature paper in form four. It's one of the most memorable to me upto date. I still remember Mulili " Duty be duty and me be on duty now"... Jusper Wendo...." Just a little biological function..." Nina mama Jusper and Mama the university student who had been killed ( what was his name?) and Mulili wants to arrest her and she wants to undress and Mulili says " How many naked bodies have I seen and I am still the same Mulili?"! Oh the book was great and the very best for young mind in the Literature class in my time. That time Literature was a subject by itself in form four and English too and both of them were compulsory- it was the best for the critical minds of the youth.

I'm starting to think the rapid decline of Ruto's approval rating in Mt. Kenya might have something to do with Gachagua's ouster. Last year, (unverified) word in the grapevine was that NIS reported that only 20% of the residents there would vote for Ruto if an election was held then.
