There are references to several folk-tales - "Monkey-Crab Quarrel", "Kachi Kachi Yama", "Mukashi Mukashi Ehon", "Issun Boshi", "Momotaro", and "Kintaro". All of these stories revolve around some gruesome revenge taken on the antagonists. I think what the lyrics are saying is let's chill out, have empathy with others, and resolve our disputes by more constructive means. Angelina even expresses regret for kicking Mr. Tanuki's ass.

It is a well known folk tale of a captured raccoon dog Who appealed to the farmer’s wife to free him, only to betray and eat her. Tanuki are often considered as drunken buffoons, but this was a sober evil one

Actually the tanuki chops the farmer's wife up, throws her meat into the dinner soup, and feeds the farmer the soup. After the tanuki reveals himself and explains what was in the soup, the farmer becomes distraught and kills himself. I watched a "hello kitty" type animation of the story with my 3 year old son on Japanese tv. My son seems to have grown up ok but I've been having nightmares ever since.

Did you notice the drums "singing" harmony in the middle. The acoustic and digital drums trade off in the middle of fills and licks. GS is bunkers and chaotic but damn they are creative and find new details to explore.

Almost impossible to figure out even half of what's going on on the first watch. It wasn't Nursery Rhymes, but rather a couple folk tales used in the lyrics. Cheers :)

I think dual drums is overkill and doesn't really give the new drummer a chance to shine. I think she should either be on guitar or go back to drums and remove new drummer

@@BestFriendsReact I think it is fun for an occasional thing, or to achieve a specific effect, for example the 808 drum sound effects the electric kit provides through the latter half of the song, alongside the regular drums, but I don't think it should be used too often

Kachi-Kachi Yama is a Satoyama(里山,さとやま, Japanese term applied to the border zone or area between mountain foothills and flat arable land.) The band's name is Gacharic (Gotcha Reek) Spin, there are several concerts where the band is introduced in a musical lead-in. One of my pet peeves is people that react to and/or explain these music videos and then talk over the lyrics and music. I am a subscriber, presently, but that can change. If you want to comment, pause the video, PLEASE. Besides, isn't that one of the KZbin rules? Back to the video itself, did you notice that there are two people playing drums? Hana AND Yuri! They have done that on stage in the past, but Hana is mostly singing and playing guitar with Tomo-Zo. And I just love Tomo-Zo, she is a magnificent guitarist and is as cute as a basket of puppies.

Actually the title comes from a series of folk-tales about a rabbit playing horrific pranks on a tanuki to revenge the deaths of a farmer couple. In one story the rabbit sets fire to a bundle of wood the tanuki is carrying. When the tanuki asks what's the crackling noise (kachi kachi) the rabbit tells him not to worry, it's just the sound of the nearby Kachi Kachi Yama.
