I've recently gotten into both Gackt and Dir En Grey and I couldn't help but notice the similarities as well. I've grown to really enjoy both equally. I think another reason I like both so much and on such an equal level is that they exude emotional content that can be felt despite the language barrier between myself (I don't speak Japanese and English is my native tongue) and these musicians.
