Bus driver complains about riders in the bus lane

The MMDA continue with their efforts to enforce the exclusive bus lane on EDSA.
There are rumors that the penalty for misusing the EDSA busway will soon be increased. Hopefully this move won't be opposed.

The thing is, some Filipino's lack common sense and understanding. Some only cares about themselves and their self-convenience. If the penalty fines would raise, the typical response from these riders would be like, "the government is so greedy". Which they clearly missed the point.

Instead of following the rules, they would just choose to be careful next time not to be caught by breaking the rules. Which is a dumb way of thinking. I think it's time for the govt to install barriers so there won't be any vehicle or motorist trying to get to the bus lane or to zig zag to avoid getting fined. Still to this day, Filipinos in general are really hard headed and don't understand or follow the laws.

Construct a checkpoint in every bus stop, like a guard house where MMDA can monitor the bus lane 24/7. I only see MMDA patrolling in GMA Kamuning every night so meaning they can enforce this kind of strategy. This will solve the issue.

Can LTO put 2 enforcers in each buses that is traversing the bus lane? And everytime there’s a car behind or a motorcycle, the buses can slow down and the enforcers can go down right at the end of bus lane where there is a barrier, there’s no way the violators can run then

The barriers were removed from the flyovers and tunnels, for safety reasons. Plastic bollards were installed, but people were literally running over them on purpose. They also tried metal bollards, but most of them quickly got ran down too - mostly by accident.

They say traffic causes economic losses so causing traffic and obstruction on priority lanes should be a crime related to economic sabotage for stiffer penalties like apprehension, court appearances to prosecutors or fiscal, suspension of license while undergoing driving re evaluations and seminar. Nevermind the higher penalties... Make this a lesson memorable whenever they violate traffic rules especially on bus lanes that stupidity excuses no one...😅

if mmda can't hire more enforcers, maybe they can do get OJTs and part-timers. like 3 OJTs / part timer under 1 enforcer. then every 1-2km or areas that are known to be bottlenecks and/or source of illegal bus lane users there's a group of 2 enforcers with 6 OJTs / part timers .

Put mini humps on the bus lane, just enough to deter MCs from using them. It won’t make much of a difference to Buses and Cars but as you said Cars are easily apprehended due to traffic. MC riders won’t risk their shocks and wheel being damaged. And would make it easier for the enforcer

When did you hear a driver say "I didn't know it's a bus lane"? Because I haven't heard anyone say that for at least months. The most common answer is " I'm in a rush", "I have an important meeting" or "I'm running late" There are overhead signs, road level signs, lane markings, barriers etc (varying per parts of the bus lane) People know it's a bus lane.

For the government plates iirc there's a memorandum for making temporary/improvised plates. I work on LGU I already notice this on every LGU veicles which replaced a month ago. However, it doesn't mean they can go to the bus lanes or violate traffic law as excuse though.
