Rider faces extra penalties in the EDSA Busway

A number of drivers were issued with penalty tickets after being apprehended inside the exclusive bus lane on EDSA.
According to recently released statistics, the EDSA carousel buses moved over 57 million passengers in the first 11 months of 2024

Makarma sana yung mga naglalagay ng "Emergency" sa sasakyan nila kahit na hindi naman sila ambulansya o galing sa ahensya ng gobyerno na pwedeng gumamit ng "Emergency" na sign para makaiwas sa traffic. He was inside the bus lane and then started riding the line. But either way, riding on top of that line is extremely dangerous because if a bus tries to get past you, it's almost certain that you'll be knocked down. That has happened many times before. The bus lane is pretty much only just wide enough for a bus. Even if you ride perfectly on top of the line, you're still going to end up having half your bike inside the busway - which could be a big problem if a bus tries to pass you. More often, what ends up happening is that the buses simply get stuck behind the rider until they move out of the way. But every now and then, the riders do get knocked down. I remember before, during an LTO operation, when riders tried to argue that they were just "riding the line", they were hit with a ticket for reckless driving.

try po nila mag dry run for 1 month automatic confiscation and suspension ng license for at least 3 months. revoke ang license pag proven na nag try mag evade ng apprehension. wag na po siguro taasan ang fines, hindi lahat ng tao may pera to pay at mag cause lang to ng stress and frustrations baka gumawa pa sila ng illegal para lang mabayaran ang fines. pero most people has time para mag commute tsaga lang sa hirap at init😂

Please dont push the "use to be easy to apprehend because there is a non contact etcetc..." It is way easier for riders to slip through if there is non contact. They'll just remove their plate number and they're invincible.

The penalties should get a yearly revision. If the violations exceed a certain threshold, say 10,000 in that year, then a 20% increase should be of the order. But if the motorists are able to good law abiding people, and violations ho below 5,000/year the the current penalties should go down 20%, as so to incentivize everyone to be good little boys and girls on the road.... 😊😊😊

Yung mga tumatakas o tumatakbo sa enforcer wala naman mangyayari kahit show cause order pa sila ng LTO. Panigurado kaya malakas loob nilang tumakas kase peke lisensya niyan or walang lisensya. a good quality branded helmet costs less than the 5k penalty they would need to pay to get their licenses back. I wonder what the statistics of unclaimed licenses in the SAICT office. Most of the bus lane is protected by barriers, but there are openings for emergency vehicles and they were removed from the flyovers and tunnels because of safety issues. They tried plastic bollards but the problem is that riders just go between them and cars just drive straight over them. You might also remember there were metal bollards for awhile, but those kept getting knocked down too (mostly by accident). Barriers help but they're not a replacement for self-discipline. In fact, just look at Bonny Serrano, where enforcement agencies receive a constant stream of complaints about motorcycles that are counterflowing and causing accidents and traffic. The MMDA installed barriers but the riders are still getting around them and continuing to counterflow.
