Vuurtj, are you referring to the outside of the box? If I write on the outside, I paint on the box, then I sometime even use a engraver to scratch the wood, then I use a clear coat over it to preserve it. I use only wood boxes.

Good Question, I use my GPS to put my coords in. I'm sure there is and app what you can put coords in, but that is something I'm not familiar with - sorry.
