Thank for one of the most honest and more importantly down to earth reviews on youtube, well done sir! The alecs are definitely on my short list.

Thanks so much! After auditioning so many speakers, I haven't found a loudspeaker that brings music IN to the room like these do. You don't just listen to the music, you experience it. There's a big difference with that. Best of luck with your decision. If you get a set, let me know what you think!

I have a pair of the Alta Audio Rhea's. Love them! More people have to experience the speakers from this company.

Agreed Doc! COVID didn't help because I wanted to demo these to as many people as I could. It's one of those experiences that you cannot quantify. The Rhea's are beautiful!

Do you live near Southern California? I live in San Diego, looking to audition Alta Audio speakers, Alecs or Alyssas, but Rhea's would work as well to replace my Goldenear Triton Ones but the closest Alta dealer is in Tucson, AZ.

Great review! Would love to hear the Alec someday. I had demo a pair of Celesta FRM-2 recently, and they are absolutely amazing speakers which created the whole music venue right there, right then. I wasn't expecting that before the music begun, and no other system I'd heard in the past created such magical music presence and even filled quite a large room. I simply don't understand how a pair of "small" speakers could do so.

Thanks! It's really incredible to experience. I should be covering the Alyssa soon so I'm excited to see what a more affordable bookshelf speaker from Alta can do.

Thank you for your helpful and inspiring review. You mentioned in your review that you were having trouble matching the sound for a center channel in a home theater setup. I was wondering if you considered the Alyssa. I did hear that this was a good match, it even looks like the top part of the Alec, as you mentioned, but since you've heard the Alyssa, do you think it doesn't match well enough to work as a center speaker? Also, I was wondering how you thought the Celesta compared to the Alec, that is, if you had heard them. I'm debating these two speakers for a home theater setup. I'd greatly appreciate any insights.

It took long enough to respond by my Alyssa review is about to go live! A single Alyssa would be an incredible match to serve as a center to the Alecs. They are very similar in sound and warmth. Ultimately, you center should be comparably capable to your left and right, so I would consider the Alec as a center as well if you can make space and have the budget for it. Stay tuned to the Alyssa review! I haven't been fortunate enough to hear the Celesta in person yet!

Is it true they are using $50 Dayton audio woofer and a $130 fountek ribbon tweeter?

Thanks for the video. You mentioned several very bold statements as the Alta Alec is comparable with 20k and more LS. Which one please?

Hi there, I’m curious about how the Hifi rose sounds with the PS audio GCD you have? I’m interested in buying the RS-150 to pair them with the M700s.

Great review. Just returned from a Gershman Grande Avant Garde demo in which they were brilliant. Alec’s probably are comparable, at least they are both from Canada with similar vision for sound reproduction.

thats the dayton audio rrefrence i made a speaker with one of those and my cabinets are mdf with solid oak on top of that and they are solid they are 80 lbs and have a 10 inch woofer i made a high quality 3 rd order crossover and its probaly the best speaker i have heard but i made it myself and it looks really expensive it cost me around $800 to make . but it looks simular to that

It is an 8" woofer - a very good one mind you, but their marketing-speak about calling it 8.75" is just silly. I love transmission line designs, and I actually just recently designed and built a pair of MLTL speakers with the exact same Dayton Audio RS225P-4A woofers used in these speakers. I think transmission line designs - when done right, are the best of all worlds, so to speak. They have the dynamic power and the deep extension - and most of all, the quality to get the smallest detail and subtlety and nuance, that is in the recording.

KZbin demonetizes anything I have with music so I usually do not add too many. Honestly I don't have a mic system that captures the audio anywhere near what these speakers do in person. With that being said, here's a demo I put up a few months ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXy1i4yDgJyofrs

Yes, but I’m not paying $10,000 for what amounts to cabinets when you realize the off-the-shelf made in China drivers are negligible in cost. Should be priced closer to $2,000 tops.
