On the editing, everything you're saying makes so much sense. Figure out the most efficient way to Make a basic video, then you have freed up time for yourself to work on the ribbons you tie it up in, without impacting the amount of time you spend editing. And now, every new editing trick or funny bit you start using, you're using quick and effectively.

I started watching gaming vids during COVID and really enjoyed how CoryxKenshin edited his vids. I finally started uploading my own gaming vids last month and thoroughly enjoy video editing. Like a lot. Where I was a month ago (now 13 vids later) is NOWHERE near where I was just a few weeks ago. However, now I also understand why that man's videos take 13-18 hours to edit. He's a monster with the editing tools, sheesh

I do it as a hobby. Once it stops being fun I'll stop doing it. You give great advice that still applies to everyone!

BIG point you brought up that nobody ever says: most people are not in this to be full time or long term but they will never tell you that. However they will still try to advise you like they are

TRULY SO MUCH GOOD ADVICE! I also appreciate that you are telling it how it is! I feel like some people aren't willing to be as truthful with advice and they sugarcoat it 😂

I totally forgot what all the numbers were, but a lot of these hit home for me! Especially that last one. While It'd be nice to make a living off content creation, I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket. So right now it's a very involved hobby that I try to improve at while I work two jobs to make money. 😆I've got very low expectations for my content "blowing up", but I'm having a lot of fun making it and it's a great creative outlet that I really wanted. 💜

"Making content for yourself is kind of a mistake--" A counterpoint: you are _never_ going to stay motivated if you're not making something you enjoy for yourself, or worse: if that content does really well, you're going to end up stuck making stuff you don't like. If you hate seeing people be like, "oh, this is so hard I've tried it twice and I haven't learned anything," I can almost guarantee you that those people are doing that thing because it's popular and they thought it would make them successful, not because they enjoy it. You can stick with something you suck at if you love it -- if you don't, you'll be much more inclined to give up. (Or complain the entire time!) 🤣

Thank you for this great video, Gael! I have a question regarding the point of "selfish content". When I cover a game that I don't like as much but that's where the attention currently is, how do I find the balance of being vocal about disliking the game but still creating content around it? I would really love to hear your opinion on this. 🙂

Thank you! Some points was very useful! I was planning to pay for ads on tiktok! Now I plan to make a FB page to add my content on other platforms. But how about paying for ads on platform that you don't car so much?
