Interesting idea, with one problem: The werewolves (Hounds of Hircine) are so ridiculously powerful that absolutely no one could make it past the initial part of the maze. I can think of only 1-3 characters who could survive the first encounter against 2 werewolves; the second encounter against 3 werewolves would be too much for anyone. I realize this is a lame way of addressing your suggestion, but once I've made a few videos with Bloodmoon characters, it will become clear just how powerful these werewolves are.

Gaenor's super high Luck (770) is definitely what sets him apart from other NPCs, but his remaining Attributes are high, too (Strength: 155; all the rest: 100). His Athletics, Block, Heavy Armor, and Long Blade are all at 100. He also has a special ability which, apart from boosting his Luck by 500 pts(!), also lets him Resist Magicka (80 to 100 pts), Reflect (50 to 100 pts), and Restore Health (1 pts). In contrast to King Helseth, Gaenor's jewelry (Gaenor's Amulet: Fortify Luck 15 pts [Constant Effect]) contributes only a little to his overall amazing stats. @@Rockah0lic

She points this out when you talk to her about it before the mission. Helseth is just still trying to kill you at that point. You can even hear the assassins talking among themselves about having been told you would be there.

Really love your editing style, man. You do a much better job displaying statistics than any other channel I've ever seen that does NPC battles. A lot of other games could benefit from your expertise in this arena (no pun intended), especially other Bethesda games!

Thanks! For me, AgeArena's videos (www.youtube.com/@AgeArena/videos) were (and still are) the gold standard of how to set up NPC battles. I found his methodical, numbers-heavy approach to this genre so captivating that I wanted to recreate it in my other favorite games. If you look at AgeArena's videos and compare them to mine, the similarities are quite extensive and are so by design. Initially I set out to make NPC battle videos on a bunch of different games, but now that I have first-hand experience of making these types of videos and know how time-consuming it all is, I've had to revise my plans a bit xD I'm still probably going to do similar videos on other games some day, but this is really just an idea at this point.

I wasn't expecting barenziah to be able to defeat Gaenor

Barenziah is very strong against anyone who doesn't have any innate fire resistance, like Gaenor for example. With that said, Gaenor still has a good chance of beating her. When Gaenor is spawned, his Reflect ability gets a random value between 50 and 100. At the lower end of this range, there's a high chance that any spell targeted at him will, in fact, hit him, so a strong spellcaster like Barenziah can dispatch him relatively quickly. But at the higher end of this range (say, between 90 and 100), Gaenor will reflect virtually all spells targeted at him and so becomes impervious to all magic attacks. Note how Barenziah lost the 5th round against Gaenor. This was because the Gaenor that was spawned for this fight had a high magnitude Reflect ability, so Barenziah essentially blew herself up trying to hit Gaenor with her spells.

Almalexia is not very intelligent. She uses magic against guests who have the power to deflect spells.

The strength of Gaenor's Reflect ability changes each time he's spawned (it varies from 50 to 100%), so it's not always futile to use spells against him. Almalexia is really good at melee combat, though, so it'd probably be better for her to forgo spellcasting altogether and just whack him with her sword.

Awesome new video! I just found your content this past week but I've been playing Morrowind since 04'. Interesting niche you've found here, there's certainly plenty of content to be made here between all the matchups, their variations, and their quantity of fighters. That being said, I'm curious to see how Divath Fur matches up against vanilla Vvardenfell's mightiest. Possibly a Yagram Bagarn vs a dwemner spirit from tribunal. Anyways best of luck!

Thanks! You have me beat by one year xD I started playing Morrowind in 2005, which is still pretty early, and I think I'm old enough to be regarded as a Morroboomer. It's only very recently, though, that I've dipped my toes into content creation. As you pointed out, Morrowind is such a vast game that I'll practically never run out of video ideas, and I have a lot of ground to cover, so I'm going to stick to making Morrowind videos for the time being at least. I like the Fyr idea. He's strong enough to face expansion characters, too, so I'm probably going to do multiple videos on him. As for Bagarn, he's incapable of dealing any damage with his attacks, so unless his opponent nukes themselves, he's in for a very rough time :D

Tienius's sword, Gravedigger, has the following enchantments: [Cast When Strikes] Damage Health 40 pts for 3 seconds Paralyze for 3 seconds Gaenor has a very high Reflect ability (the exact magnitude varies between 50 and 100 pts), so there's a high chance that whatever spells are cast at Gaenor are reflected back to his opponent. This is what happens in his fight with Tienius: the sudden decreases in Tienius's Health are actually caused by his own weapon enchantment! Tienius has 5 Exclusive Restore Health potions, so he can recover a lot of lost Health. But once these have run out (he always drinks all of them at once), he's toast.

Actually, valor have chance to win if he dont use his darts. I command humanoid him to fight gaenor in almalexia quest. He win couple times, but if he defeated, gaenor life mostly near depleted.

Yep, he goes down pretty fast if you manage to hit him hard a few times in quick succession. But since he has such a high Agility (100) and an outstandingly high Luck (755), landing those hits is very difficult.

It's always funny to click on those clickbait videos of morrowind NPCs fighting but then the lack of HP overlay really makes the fight look repetitive as hell until someone drops dead. Thanks for the kind words! The status bars come from mesafoo's Companion Health Bars mod (link: www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46136 ). I merely edited his mod a bit so that it applies to arena fighters instead of player companions (as it was originally intended to do) and also shows magicka and fatigue bars. It and other MWSE-Lua mods have been a massive help in setting up these fights.

For the most part gaenor only won because he has a shild that can actually take a couple of hits. Enemies that had something to block lost the shield after about 5 blocks. And those enemies engaging in meele without shield lost, because they had to eat every single hit from the stunted dwarf. Also gedna was a bit of a joke. If we would let her fight the way she was "supposed" to be, Gaenor would face a 5 digit health pool XD Also Helseth kinda cheated, because his hp regen is just ridiciolus.

Would there even be a tactic that's reliable against Gaenor? With his incredible deflection and magicka resistance, you can't even damage his luck..

The best tactic is probably to brute force your way to victory by using strong physical attacks. Only very few NPCs can actually match Gaenor's strength, however. One of the few are Almalexia's bodyguards (see timestamp 10:10 of this video). Also, super strong spellcasters like Barenziah, Gedna Relvel, and Vivec can also beat him on some occasions. No spellcaster can consistently beat Gaenor, however, since he may spawn with a really high Reflect and/or Resist Magicka ability that make him practically invulnerable to magic attacks.

@@KnoxCarbon Yes, you definitely can craft such potions in vanilla Morrowind. There's quite a few ingredients that have a Fortify Strength effect when used in potion crafting. UESP has a listing of all of them here: en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Fortify_Attribute. These ingredients are also not very hard to come by, so crafting Fortify Strength potions is probably the fastest way to become overpowered in Morrowind. Gaenor is very tough, but any character whose Strength is in the 5000-10000 range should be able to one-shot him even when using a low to mid tier weapon.
