Thanks Andrew. Obviously Covid19 has and will put back a lot of firmware upgrades for all manufactures but apparently the China written Phone App is going to be superseded by Nantlites USA phone app at some point. Using a separate Wifi box is very 'old school' and vs the Aputure's phone app it makes Nanlite seem almost amateur in comparison. If I'd say anything to Nanlite, it would be start investing in R'n'D in light cooling technology. COB lights are just getting more and more powerful (Aputure 600 soon!!!!) but the technology behind the cooling implementation especially with Nanlite just seems like an afterthought. A noisy light on set is even worse than a noisy DOP!!!!!

I was recently looking at buying one of these to replace my Dedolight DLED 7 Bi-Colour (thinking the Forza was heaps brighter)... so was comparing the brightness photometrics again. Because the Forza with the fresnel is 45 degrees at full flood compared to 60 degrees of the Dedo, you would have to move the Forza 60B back to 4.18 metres distance to achieve the same area of coverage as the Dedo at 3 metres. When you do that, the Forza 60B is about 360 Lux (at 5600k) compared to the Dedo at about 290 Lux (at 5600k). Given the Dedo optics are better (and I already have a bunch of accessories) I decided to just stick with the Dedo. This sort of comparison wouldn't be possible without your testing results Andrew, so thanks very much again for your great work. Just thought it was important to mention the brightness comparisons at a matching area of coverage / beam angle.

Keen to check these out, added 2 of the regular Forza 60’s to my kit after your review and they have been great, although had to warranty claim one that randomly went up in smoke one day when powering on. But was replaced no trouble at all. The Aputure Nova P300C is due in stock in the coming weeks, are you going to be checking that out? Would love to see some real world comparisons between it and the S30/S60

I wish you would review the "Nanlite Forza 300B"! You could compare it with the "Nanlite Forza 300" daylight model, with its main competitor, the "Aputure 300X", or with a power equivalent conventional lighting fixture : Maybe a 575W HMI Fresnel or a 2Kw Tungsten Fresnel. I especially want them over Aputure products, because the Nanlite daylight kelvins are much bluer, and I live up by the Arctic Circle in Iceland, where daylight is closer to 6000-6500. The 5300-5400 on the C300m2 needs gelling up here to match.

Thanks for mentioning the difference in output between the Nanlite daylight and bicolor. I agree it's better to use the original with a gel. How do you gel your light? I just attach it to the reflector with gaff tape! Not very professional and it flaps in the wind! Looking for a better way! Thanks!
@cagf20133 жыл бұрын
Depending on how strong the gel is you might actually lose more brightness compared to the 60B - Gelling a daylight LED to tungsten for example can lose a lot of light and sometimes the colour quality is also reduced. Personally I think bi-colour is better
