Here's our rules: If you're hit from your knees down you're out, thigh up you're not out and the person who hit you isn't out either. You can only hit the ball once unless it bounces off a wall/person, then you can hit it again The ball has to bounce twice before you can hit it at the start of the game and the server can't hit it until someone else hits it. You can't crouch/sit down in the game. If someone is cheating you yell "hold the ball" and someone picks the ball up and stops the game, you can't hold the ball otherwise. There can be 1 or 2 balls only. There is DEFINITELY no outside of the pit play. Honestly I hate that rule about your game. There may only be 10 players. You cannot sit or lean against the wall. If you get out you get in line and wait until the game is over. The 11th person in line is ref. You obviously can't kick the ball. When there are only 2 people left, they can hit the ball 3 times without it touching the wall. Ref can countdown from 20 or 10 if the game takes too long. If you're the last person the ball touched and the ball goes out of the pit, you're out. That's our rules

It's cool how everyone has a different way to play. It can be annoying to teach someone that knows some other variation but all the rules are similar to a point.
