This car with 12' wheel size is meant exclusively for city. May be as a second car only. This cannot be comfortable on highway due to small wheels. This is a half car of sorts. Tiago is a complete package

When nano was available people used to call it cheap. Indian market didn't accept it, otherwise we would still have it in production. People will criticize everything. This car has good qualities, hopefully it finds buyers so that there are more cars in this segment in the future. MG deserves credit for trying something new and innovative.

MG makes some of the most quality cars in the market. Better than most in their respective segments. Although it is British made, but because it is owned by a Chinese company, like Volvo, it is neither promoted by influencers nor preferred by people as a vehicle of choice. But MG cars are pretty good in terms of features, safety, premium feel, and price range.

I would definitely buy this as my secondary city car if : 1. The price was at around 5-7 lakhs on road for the top model 2. Petrol option with at least CVT automatic Ev are just not suitable as of now . 5 years down the road things would be very different.

Oh man, you became expert in quick review. You're fast, not wasting time yet giving detailed review. Loved this video. I found this car useless for me after watching this video. They spent on features which we can't enjoy much bcoz of congested size. That whole screen is useless tbh, we can't look at the details on it. This car must be priced around 5lk. This will be helpful for single guys or old people for only city rides. Edit: I know i sound silly but this car will be a fun taxi. I'd buy 2,3 cars and make them as taxis.

Very informative video Gagan! I believe the base version of MG Comet should have been priced at a maximum on-road price of Rs. 6 or 6.5 lakh. The higher-end features such as the touch screen infotainment system and reverse parking camera could have been offered as options only for the top variant. The MG Comet's compact size, limited range, and minimal boot space, combined with a negligible price difference with the Tiago EV, do not justify its price. For individuals from lower and middle-income groups, the price is the most critical factor when purchasing a car. While safety features such as airbags are necessary, compromises can be made on high-end features. For instance, an AUX/Bluetooth music system can be provided instead of a touch screen infotainment system, reverse parking sensors instead of reverse parking cameras, and dashboard controls instead of steering mounted controls. To encourage the majority of Indians to shift towards EVs, it is vital that an EV car is available within their budget range (between 3 to 6 lakh, at which they purchase a used petrol/diesel car) that can perform the basic function of transportation from point A to point B at a minimal running cost (thanks to its EV technology), and includes basic air conditioning and a music system. Given these compromises, MGMotorIndia should have priced the Comet at around Rs. 6.5 lakh on-road. This would have put it in direct competition with internal combustion engine vehicles, and middle-class individuals would have considered purchasing a new EV car within their budget instead of a used petrol/diesel car. This would also enable MG Motors to attract a larger customer base, making Comet as an anchor and even upsell premium cars to some of them. It is worth considering this option as it could prove to be a key to the brand's success.

I feel like this car will have a hard time finding a market in India. It's priced too premiumly for most buyers and for anyone who could afford this, they would rather buy a bigger sized alternative. And also it's not like MG has a "premium" brand image here either. It's not VFM in the Indian market. It genuinely feels like they have not done their homework on India and have just brought over a rebabdged Chinese market vehicle.

BYD Seagull if launched in India, will be much better in terms of battery 38.88 kWh, range, charging. It is selling for ($13,000, 10 Lakh Rs) in China currently. MG and Tata should bring bigger battery, and higher fast AC charging. Tata buys battery packs from Guoxuan Hi-Tech.

Tata Tiago electric base model is almost priced 1 lakh more than this MG comet. Tata cracked it way before these upcoming models. But this car is not even near to Tata Tiago ev. Yes, it would be justified to compare MG Comet and Mahindra Reva. Cuz both are compact mini cars. MG is different, but how far it will be acceptable to Indian buyers, time will say. Its more inspired by the Wuling EV mini. Which is a hit amongst youth in China. As a buyer, I would still prefer with Tata Tiago EV, compared the price, space, safety and design and if really I want a compact mini, Reva is much more cheaper than this.
