People complain about bug, balance, political and cultural agendas and micro transactions. But at the end of the day they fail to for even just a moment appreciate what we today get to experience as gamers. This video for 8 minutes and 40 seconds sets that all aside and for a few fleeting moments shows what modern gaming really is at its core. I have been gaming for 30 years, and as a young child sliding in a Nintendo cartridge into my NES for the first time could have never imagined the beauty games could one day produce.

I watched this randomly recommended vid last night before I fell asleep. My eyes were so wet.. This morning I came back and watched it again. Now I'm still playing it in the background while using my laptop... Although I'm young which makes me impossible to experience World Wars, and hope I'll never experience one, still I'm so touched and got so emotional when watching this... and also reading the comments... As a BFV player, thank you so much for bringing me here and watched this masterpiece. I'm Asian, and my grandfather once fought in China during WWII. (thanks for having Japanese troops in it... BFV His body slightly leans to the right, he said it's because he carried rifles too many years before he's an adult... I've served in the military before, I can imagine if I carry a rifle 24/7, my shoulders should hurt. He often reminds me to be careful when swimming and be careful with the traffic but never talked about guns and warfare. Sometimes, he would share some memories with me but never mentioned anything that happened on the battlefield. There's only once he mentioned the craziness of guns. He said people shouldn't have invented guns, with his eyes shut... And for once, only once, he said the holes were so big... on a man's body... he formed a circle with both hands and with the tone of horror, impressed, sad and grateful all at the same time. He complains nothing, and my mother said it's because he's grateful he got a great family and a great life. Thanks, grandpa : ) I'm grateful to have you in my life too : ) In honor of those who fought for the freedoms of the world. May their sacrifice never be in vain.

This video brings the beauty out of Battlefield 1. The matches in BF1 get so intense that you forget your in a game as you're too busy trying to stay alive while also attempting to comprehend what's going on around you. God bless those who fought in WW1 and WW2. No matter if they're Russian, American, French, British, German, Japanese or Italian. They all fought for what they believed in and for those who they loved, so that they can see a brighter future. The leaders might've been corrupt, but the soldiers, they fought for those they care for. It's a damn shame today's generation throw away the sacrifices these soldiers made for us.

Very well done. I immediately thought of my grandmother telling me stories about my great grandfather fighting the Germans in Russia in WW2 and the pillow on the wall in her room that had all his medals. 6 of them.

Beautiful video and it saddens me in knowing that people only see the bad in these games and not the beauty in them and the community
@multicookie19976 жыл бұрын
on the oppisite, it saddens me in knowing that people won't see all the lies behind such beauty. Gaming will always stay art. Stay beautiful. Sad to see most people just going blind while they are getting fucked over again by the same guys who very well know about their actions...Every coin has two sides.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever watched. The purest love letter to Battlefield. Almost brought a tear to my eye, the memories I've had with this franchise over the years with my friends still stick with me. I've always had a difficult time explaining to some why I loved Battlefield so much, this is it. Thank you!

You sometimes forget the beauty of Battlefield One I remember it was my very last game before I uninstalled it. I was playing as the French on Rapture and it was the final sector, Sector Four. We were being demolished the entire game, each sector being taken with very little resistance by the Germans. But that Fourth Sector...That's when things changed. I was on the Langer Max Gun by the railroads on Objective A, being reinforced by about half my team. The rest of them were holding B as best as they could. I remember the German team charged down the hill, but they weren't getting close. That Langer Max Gun I was on was being used to great effect, mostly targeting vehicles such as tanks. When there weren't any tanks or what have you, I'd turn my attention to infantry. They brought out artillery trucks, staying just outside of my range, pounding away at my big ass gun. Once it was destroyed, I joined those on Objective A. That's when the tide seemed to turn to the German's favor, storming onto A and B. We were fighting by the skin of our teeth. The German Team fought with a ferocity I had never seen before in Battlefield One. We returned the sentiment, "Ils ne passeront pas" (They shall not pass, like when it was used in French history, most famously in the Battle of Verdun. And what the DLC is named after) sort of deal. We fucking pushed them back to the trenches, just outside of A. We bloody fucking won that game! Just barely too, as the German Team fought like lions. All we were able to do at the end was make it a battle of attrition. I will always remember this match of Operations. It was the most fun I've ever had in Battlefield One, and I'm glad that it was my final game before I finally put it to rest...
