Great video as always. I recently purchased a Gaggia Classic Pro and it is fantastic. One trick is the compression tube fits very snugly. If it seems loose, keep pushing it in. Also the drip tray and drip tray steel cover. There are two little nibs on the underside. Those nibs slot into holes in the bottom housing. Just look for those. There is a whole in the steel screen that lines up with that tube. No big deal but it is something to keep in mind.

Great video ! Thank you. I just got my new Gaggia today, so this video was very helpful . I did notice the Illy coffee in the can they showed is ground coffee, not espresso. On the Illy cans, always look down at the bottom of the can on the left to tell what grind you're getting. (In this regard, I think Illy should make more of a distinction between ground and espresso, perhaps different color cans.)

Hi, i was just about to order the new Gaggia Classic Evo 2023 when i saw pictures and posts on Gaggia classic facebook group mentioning that black flaking is coming out of the steam wand and that consumers are returning their new machines, they all seem to think that the new boiler coating is falling apart and no descaling or flushing is solving the issue. There's a post on reddit about it. I'm concerned, should I place the order or not? Any info about this???

I'm wondering if your customers have complained about black flakes coming from the boiler coating? Is the coating made of teflon? I've read on some forums people are noticing black flecks coming out of the water from their steam wand and I'm concerned about drinking from something that can shed teflon into the water.

Tip for new buyers: I thought i thoroughly cleaned the machine beforehand and ended up finding a few pieces of styrofoam floating in the water tank the next day. They must have been tucked up above it. keep an eye out for that. Definitely don't want that getting sucked into the boiler.

dearest, sorry for the inconvenience but I have an important question...I purchased the 9 bar spring which will arrive shortly...but after replacing it, can I still use the pressurized filter supplied (the one with the rubber underneath) or do I have to use it exclusively one of the remaining 2 (i.e. single and double dose)??? and if it's possible what happens to the coffee if I do it? Thank you very much❤
@Wholelattelovepage5 ай бұрын
Hi ns, If you purchased a Gaggia Classic EVO Pro in North America be aware all units sold already have a 9 bar OPV installed. Those can use the pressurized filter baskets. If you have an older GC or one purchased outside NA and replace the OPV spring the pressurized basket should still work. Marc

So I have a gaggia and out of box it leaks out of steam wand, and I can see yours does too. Is that normal?
@Wholelattelovepage Жыл бұрын
Hi HKB, Some dripping of condensation from the wand is normal. You can check the valve by closing fully and pressing both the brew and steam switch to on. That will run the pump and push water to the wand only. If you do not get leaking with that test then the valve is good and you are just having drips from condensation. Here's a video showing the test described: Gaggia Steam Valve Leak Test: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6e2eYGrnLSAqtE Hope that helps! Marc

How does the machine know whether the grounds are freshly ground vs pre ground? Why the need for separate cup? Thanks!
@Wholelattelovepage Жыл бұрын
Hi SG, Thanks for the question. The machine does not know. Use the filter basket with many holes (non-pressurized) for freshly ground coffee and the filter basket with a single hole (pressurized) for pre-ground coffee. The pressurized basket controls the flow rate of the espresso extraction giving more leeway if grind size is not quite right. If using pre-ground make sure it's intended for making espresso. If grinding fresh, be sure and dial in your grind size properly. Here's a video that shows you how to do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5-reYelfM-mnqs Marc

Realy liked the video, pre hype to recieve mine next week ! At 20:14 you guys say it hold about 16g but the website of gaggia say 7-18grams Which is right ?
@Wholelattelovepage Жыл бұрын
Hi g, thanks for the comment and question! The single basket holds 7-9g, the double 15-18g. Capacity is in a range depending on the density of the beans. Lighter roasts tend to be more dense so more fits in the basket. If you see an impression of the shower screen in the coffee puck after an extraction reduce the weight of coffee dosed. Marc

@Wholelattelovepage11 ай бұрын
Hi there. The dot to the left of the arrow indicates an approximate angle to put the portafilter into the grouphead and then you would turn it counter-clockwise to the arrow to lock it in.

@@Wholelattelovepage ok thanks. Also do you like take in gaggia Evo classics bought internationally from (American warehouse) Amazon due to recent boiler issues? Since you're the only(?) distributor for gaggia in the USA.
@1967davidfitness2 ай бұрын
The brew light went out as he pressed the brew button, this is why it needs a PID. I purge for 5 seconds some water then put the portafilter in, and wait til light comes back on then I press brew. The light stays on for approx 30 seconds. This why Gaggia is no good any more. It also needs a rotary pump.
@Wholelattelovepage2 ай бұрын
Hey 1967, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Your process is similar to what I describe in my recent video on the new Gaggia Classic Pro E24 with all brass boiler. I did some novel brew temp testing (and more) in that video using a thermocouple mounted within the coffee puck during an actual extraction. See the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHOUY2emgsepaJY Certainly understand the desire for PID and rotary pump. Those changes would of course increase the retail price significantly and require a redesign of machine to fit the large size of the pump/motor. Marc

Not really any new. The water container is the most troublesome item. Its dark and stored away invisibly. If not cleaned regularly - which is a burden to do due to its location - fungus gets in there and you don't even see it due to the dark colour. You will notice it due to the fungus being sucked into the machine and blocking water flow.
