Tremendous stuff. I was happy to be a small part of the team back in the days of Gags' residencies at the Old Grey Horse in Didsbury and at Cobdens Place in Stockport. My occasional role was to carry trays of Holy Water to the lads during the set.

Never saw them but was given a tape by a friend who did (thanks Adrian) which I copied to minidisk and have enjoyed many times since. In fact I was caught playing the intro to Juicy John Pink by my band mates, and when asked what it was I couldn't not remember. So I dug the minidisk out last week and enjoyed the full set again in the car. Blisteringly good music and a great band. Sorry I never saw them live. Great post, many thanks to you and Gags.

I followed Gags for years around Sale, Didsbury, Manchester and recorded them a number of times. Back in the day, the original drummer was Nigel....back when Brendon had hair (as did I!) Thanks for uploading.

Hi tomyg. You'll be pleased to know that there is a website summarising the full Gags story in the offing. Should be up in a few months. You'll find there that Bernie Nuttall was the original drummer, not Nigel Coatman (who came in for Death In Buzzards' Gulch). Bernie then returned to the line up in 1980. This and many other nuggets soon to be widely available! Cheers. Paul

@@paulcarrollink fair enough Paul, I can honestly say in all the time I followed the guys, Nige was in the drum seat. Glad you like the recording I made back in the day.

Brendan Gore on piano/vocals, it is! Plus Gerry McLaughlin on guitar, John Kelly on bass and Bernie Nuttall on drums. Bren and Gerry still play together, in The Removal Men. Baker's Vaults, Stockport Market, one Thursday a month, and The Nursery, Heaton Moor, last Sunday in the month.
