A tutorial should not consist of telling people where to click, but explaining each function & possibly show examples with your explianations. A good tutorial can be all the difference between a project getting off the ground or staying in the dust

I don't disagree. Our challenge is that this product is so deep that a good tutorial will take days for someone to watch through, and weeks for us to produce. Detailed documentation has been provided here : www.procedural-worlds.com/products/professional/gaia-pro/gaia-pro-tutorials/

I was waiting for an updated tutorial since July, finally it's out Gotta say this Great product Adam and PW team, My dream project would have been almost impossible without gaia ❤

I like short, sweet and to the point tutorials like this. The examples given are easy enough to follow and figure out, especially with the help of the existing documentation.

I really get the feeling your just randomizing and playing with everything until you're happy with the results. I don't feel like I'm learning the software. I'll try to rewatch later.

Incredibly useful tutorial. Quick and broad. Pairs really well with the documentation. Love how fast these are to run through!

I've been waiting for a tutorial to show how to use multiple biomes on a terrain with different biomes covering different regions.
@AdamGoodrich4 жыл бұрын
Add a second biome to your scene and use the mask in the header to separate the biome distribution across the terrain.

Everyone buying Gaia Pro and Gena Pro for the first time should come watch these videos to get a good foundational understanding. We are coming back to go over them to make sure we are not missing anything in the features.

If I'm working on a very large terrain that Unity can't handle being in memory all at once, can Gaia take, say, 2 to 4 neighboring terrain tiles I load into memory and blend them so the tree density and splat/detail maps fade slowly if the titles are completely different? I already made my own tool to adjust the height maps so they fit together seamlessly (even at 4 corner intersections) but my logic sucks for handling how all the other stuff comes together.

I don't understand how to keep the water on the map, as soon as you unselect textures, the water disappears.

Thank you for your wonderful tool. And thank you for the work and time needed to make tutorials. But...these tutorials are quite hard to listen to for some reason. I would much prefer it if you would talk naturally and spontaneously rather than reading from a script. Even if you ramble, make mistakes and take longer to explain things, the tutorial would be easier to absorb IMHO. Perhaps it’s only me, but my brain has trouble processing the information as presented.

It's a hard thing to do well. I personally prefer to talk, make mistakes and edit to keep the good stuff. The guy that made this preferred a script. We have another guy doing some tutorials in the next weeks, and will see how he goes :)

I work on these tutorials and notice I don't have nearly all the curves you have, maybe five or six different curves in my package to the dozen-plus you have. Nor are they behaving like your curves as when I select the inner-points on the strength transform on the height mask then right click I can't select anything which means there is something subtle going on and you're not explaining it because, for you, you just know. Well, I don't know so it's not working as you left out some essential information. You can't do that in tutorials. Every little thing needs to be spelled out. Later in the tutorial, the Slope Mask Curve for stone - nope. Don't have that curve, which means your tutorial is relying on your customization and not the base package. Which makes it difficult to follow your tutorial since I'm not working within the same parameters which, ultimately, lowers the value of what otherwise were quality tutorials. And, yes, I've learned a lot. And I appreciate your tutorials because most tutorials in this industry are far, far worse to the point of being worthless! But with steps skipped and not the same base package... It's frustrating and limits their effective use.

If we did a tutorial on every single possibility you would be sitting through hours and hours. Even then I notice that our own team does things in their own particular way, so there is no '1 way'. Detailed written documentation is available here: www.procedural-worlds.com/support/tutorials/. Follow that link to your product.

@@ThePassionHiFi Not sure how you get contempt for our customers out of my comment and link to documentation. And these tutorials are a match for product. They were made with it.

I missed one of your original points. If you have Gaia Pro, you will have more filter and content options. Other than the additional features provided by Gaia Pro, Gaia Pro and Gaia 2 operate exactly the same.
