The first time I got into Mega Man was during the spring of 2017, just less than a year to Mega Man's 30th aniversery, and my local Libary had the Legacy Collection of the first 6 Megaman games. I enjoyed it so much that I would rent it 4 times until getting my own copy. I would then get the 2nd Legacy Collection that had 7 - 10. Then Mega Man and Bass, Then 11. I've memorized the names of the Robot Masters Then the 8 Megaman X games. Then the Zero and ZX games. I saw the 90's Cartoon, the 3 OVAs. downloaded the first 6 games on my phone and the sountracks to the 10 games. I've read the archie comics, and what ever manga scans where avalible. And I've replayed these games multible times. Easily among my all time favorite video game franchises.

That is absolutely insane that the best game in the entire NES series was only made in 4 months, with the team not even being able to dedicate that time fully to the game. That is just crazy. Excellent video, man! I'm a sucker for history videos like this. This is probably my 2nd favorite video of yours, next to the Kid Icarus one. I love all of the remixes you used. And I prefer Mega Man II over III for one simple reason: the music. Capcom changed up the tones for their music, I believe beginning with Mega Man III, using a lot more treble and way too much percussion. I recently played it a few weeks ago to capture footage and some of the music just plain makes me cringe. Like nails on a chalkboard. Ever since then, Capcom NES games released afterwards all adopted that same new sound, and is the reason why I didn't like their games that much anymore.
@GTV-Japan7 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude. That’s a good point. In the interview I used for this there was a fight about the music in 2. AK wanted darker themes and Inafune made it poppier and he won out inthe end. The remixes came fry’s special soundtrack set. Some are from the ps1 games but the opening I used was not. There will be more history videos for as long as there are 30th anniversary, which will be for a long time

Yea that’s true! And Proto and Racer X look the same! Have you ever heard of Anpanman? When I was a wee lad in the early 90's I knew Mega Man's real name was Rock Man because my older brother of 10 years knew all that kind of stuff, so I would call him Rock Man to my friends at school, and they mocked me and said that wasn't his name and wouldn't believe me that his name was Rock Man, and said I was a liar. So, I had to start calling him Mega Man. Those little bastards. Mega Man 3 was my favorite because of Snake Man, followed by Mega Man X. Those were the good old days.

I tried the games but you need a lot of practise to master them.

My first Mega Man game was one of the Power Fighters games since it used to be in a restaurant I used to go to. I still remember me and my friends beating Dr. Wily only to be greeted with "GAME OVER". We were so fucking pissed.

The Lore for this World and character shows his age. It's sad to see him disappear with the current time. I'm sure if you're here you've also seen the 10+ hour video about "The Insane Lore of Mega Man" I would love a Collection like the one Capcom just published for the Gameboy games(and GBC) maybe throw some of the wonderswan on there too. I would love to know more about Clyde

Good retrospective! The Mega Man series was never really popular in Europe due to the lack of interest in the NES and the character having a generic appearance next to others video game robot characters from the time. Reading a review of the latest MM game release in GamesMaster Magazine the games most of the time got very average scores because the magazine was very indifferent towards the whole series.
@GTV-Japan3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm interesting take. We were excited for every new game only the later ones had lower scores as people wondered why they were still 8 bit
@pferreira19833 жыл бұрын
@@GTV-Japan What I've also noticed is that new gamers are growing up thinking that the NES and Mega Man was always popular in Europe so some revisionist history there definitely. People might like the games now but this was not the case back in the day where I come from.
