Man, the thing that makes me really appreciate how far this channel has come is the fact the flickering of the LEDs from the lower framerate of your older camera is just gone.

It's actually the other way around. The older camera was locked at 60 fps which caused the flicker. The lights of the psychoframe and the lights of the eyes flicker at a different frequency to each other and the only frame rate that they both don't flicker at is 40fps, which a lot of this video had to be filmed in. Anything higher and they tend to go nuts, which sucks as I usually like to film at 100 for smoothness and then cut it back to 50 or 60 in post. HOWEVER, you are right because I wouldn't have know that before or had a camera I could adjust before. And any or all improvements are a direct result from comments like this one, as the best info on here is ALWAYS in the comment section 😄

When you started talking about the wiring, I started wincing as I remembered my own experience with them. It was such an unbelievable hassle to get them to go into the grooves and stay there. Thank god my mum was willing to help me out with them, or my kit would've never been finished.

I've had my PG Unicorn for well over 3 years at this point and I've gotta say, I've never run into the problems you describe during the transformation. Other than the waist joint popping off when trying to transform it (which was solved by gripping the upper chest with one hand and the grey section with the other and carefully pulling the parts into place), I've always been able to grip the parts and transform it without issue. I can understand having some trouble with the front skirts at first, but you have 2 options; first is that the small arm that holds the moving pieces onto the front of the armor protrude out the back, if you pushed it forward from behind, they'll pop out (though this may not be possible with the LEDs attached), the second is that you can pull down the tab on the bottom of the skirt armor (that are used for the Unchained mode) to get better access to the edges of those parts.

I've got a copy too. Pulling on the legs was a hassle until I figured out where to grab from, but the chest ended up being my biggest problem. One side just refused to budge open. Me and my folks managed to wiggle it out, but I'm still worried that if I ever push it back in, I'll never get it out again. And it was only one side; the other side moved alright.

This is an amazing review as always! I'm expecting my PG Perfectibility by November this year to go alongside my regular PG Unicorn! Can't waittttt Also Mecha, I've built 2 MGEX Unicorns now and I've discovered that one of them have the same problem as you do, where the LED fails to light up. I've discovered that the reason might be the connecting port that goes into the butt that powers the LED strips. If you haven't already, check if it is connected properly into the butt and try to replace the batteries while you're at it. Keep experimenting around with the "Buttplug" and it should light up again. I hope this helps lol (Pls like this comment guys so Mecha can see it and hopefully fix his MGEX unicorn's issue)

batteries on mine before made it a bit wonky and also had to plug it in better. i feel like that plug down there is getting wrenched a bit out sometimes when youre really handeling that thing. it likes to wiggle out im thinking. there is no clip to hold it in. with all connectors some just need a good reseat. i almost had a dam scare with the eyes before

Yeah, this was what I've had to do a few times. That being said even though I've only bought and built it once, I have an issue in terms of the MGEX considering the price point lol. The LED's really should've been RGB, especially if they aren't going to make any PB variants(I know they've said they had no plans to, but I know that's just BS, anyone that has been building gunpla for the past 10 years will know that a PB MGEX unicorn is just an event away.)

I've never done water slides until the mg Wing Zero and Epyon so I looked up how to apply water slide decals and most of the videos I watched said to dip them in to lukewarm water for 30 to 35 seconds then use qutips to move the decal from the sheet onto the kit and it worked well for me.

The reason you were left with a matte finish on the part after using the GunPrimer balancers is because they are each two stage. For the White one, you use the underside (green?) to prepare the surface then flip it over to use the actual white side (with the logo) to buff to a gloss finish. So the full process with both would be: Grey Underside -> Grey Topside -> White Underside -> White Topside.

PG Exia is good, it's just Exia by nature itself is very simple, it doesn't have transformation like Unicorn, Zeta, big backpacks like Perfect Strike, fancy wings like SFreedom or innerframe like Gp-01. It's also kind of small so it has less shelf presence than the other PGs.

Wasn't quite sold on the divine expansion as it looks like its just the FA expansion for the normal release unicorn, but renamed. I also have to agree that the wiring is the more annoying part of the build, but once you've done it once or twice you kinda get used to it. Absolutely love the unicorn kits and have been waiting for my perfectibility for 5 months, so hoping it will come soon.

@@fraze6944 uh it's not impossible if you take your time but I would really advice you to work your way up by doing some high grades a and a master grade. Just to get a feel for it.

@@fraze6944 if its your first, I would say that it'll be a struggle, especially if your going for the full lighting build, as the wires can be fiddley as heck. I wouldn't say its impossible though, just time consuming. Me being a total muppet dove in the deep end and tried a PG unicorn as like my second or third proper build, it took a few days and patience but got it built. I would recommend doing a Master grade and a real grade (which this version of unicorn does have (although quiet pricey)) as they will set you up nicely with an understanding of what different symbols mean as the PG unicorns manuals don't normally get updated like the newest ones have been. Couple kits to consider as easy builders would be a RG unicorn and the MG ver ka wing zero custom due to ease and learning. I think the symbols in the instructions are explained in newer HG kits like the helios gundam However back to your question, it isn't impossible, just make sure to take your time, have patience, use good tools and deffo watch some of the gundam tubers best tips etc as they will help. I was quite bitter when this came out because I just splurged on the PG Phenex Narrative Ver. But now I'm just excited to build mine. I already had the LED because I found one on sale on my local hobby store for like half srp so I just bought it even though I don't have the kit for it yet. But I'm thinking of using the Kosmos LED since they have the one for the Armed Armor DE's now. --The BS stands for Beam Smart Rifle iIrc.

While I do love Gunpla, I don't like posing and transforming them. So all my PG Unicorns are permanently in destroy mode and just standing straight. Like how I imagine they'd be stored irl. for the led units you should chose kosmos, they have custom led units for all gundams, for exapmle banda doesnt give you the sheild leds, kosmos does, and very detailed instructions, and you even if you finished the entire gundam it will still tell you how to put it in

One thing about the Unicorn LED unit if anyone is interested: These self destruct over time. (at least the official ones) I modded my Banshee and Phenex with an Arduino that is shorting the button contacts of the LED control box every X minutes and hooked everything up to a seperate power supply. I like my Gundams when they illuminate the room 24/7 However: The unicorn LED Units use UV LEDs to utalize the fluorecent inner frame of the Gundams. Here is the problem tho (what I found out the hard way: The epoxy on top of the LEDs that protects the chip itself is.. well.. not UV resistent and is starting to become brown over time, effectively swallowing all of the light from the LEDs. So.. yeah.. UV LEDs that destroy themselves. If you try to remove the epoxy from the LEDs (either by sanding, pulling, twisting, etc.) you are more than likely to annihilate the LED chip itself, so that's unfortunately not an option. I've tried out multiple different SMD UV LEDs, however almost all LEDs out there in this formfactor suffer from the same Problem. The Solution would be to use regular white LEDs, these illuminate the inner frame pretty good. With a little bit of soldering the LED units can be fixed via a simple drop-in replacement.
