the Receiver Portion of the GN Beam Rifle is a left over or a prototype to the GN Sword II used by the 00 so lore wise, this actually makes sense that the GN Sword II was one of the more Modular Blades in 00 MSV since it had Short, Long and Long Rifle Variants from the Seven Sword G

When I first saw the PV for this MB Astrea II, rather than the 00, the asymmetry of the design gave me vibes of it being a prototype for the Qan[T]! But seeing it here, can really see more of the 00's design in the headsculpt, shoulders, arms, legs, shields and backpack... which makes your initial insistence on it being an Exia all the funnier to me XD Though the chest is very obviously Exia at least, which really helps sell the Astrea II as an "in-between" for their developments.

also the Astrea II is another rare example of Celestial Being reusing a previous Gundam's name and adding the suffix "II" with the other being the Seravee II, which funny enough both Gundams are piloted by Tiera Erde, not to be confused with the "Repair" rename like the Exia and Dynames.

i mean i read the 00 mangas i though the astrea was supposed too be a prototype of extia the one that came before it because he was use all the weapons of the 4 gundams . i think it got a wing zero situation like the second form i mean of zero it bassicly all five gundams from wing series but they turned them into 5 i guess the astrea got the same boat store . the foud gundams with exia and viture all got its strengths

I've never owned a Metal Build or even Full Mechanics myself, they never really had one I wanted before, except the revealed AGE-FX......but lordy I ain't paying $200+ for it, Way too pricey for me.... Amazing how even though there are several other prototype units from 00 that are cool, unique or even wacky enough to get at least either figures or even exclusive model kits Bandai continues to milk the Astraea even when the unit barely looks like the Astraea. Biggest example being the Gundam Abulhool. It is ridiculous as hell but I so desperately want a physical version of that and not another fucking Astraea.
