I was 15 years of age in July 1973 ( almost 16) when Gail / Helen worth first appeared in Coronation Street now I’m 66 😊 and I remember Susie Birchall well… happy memories of this time in the 70s

"Oh Gail!" is similar to when Laura Petrie would say "Oh Rob!" on Mary Tyler Moore. I love their relationship. It reminds me of Ada/Rachel on The US Soap Another World, or Mona/Erica on All My Children. 45 Years for Audrey Roberts.

I love Corrie. But, Gail and the actress who played her were unbearable to me so I always turned the sound off and got some work done till she was done her time on screen. Cannot see her appeal. Longevity? Her audience is familiar with her from other shows? Yeah, her popularity is a mystery to me other than those possibilities.
