The beauty of 24. After an episode ending like that, you'd be crazy to not want to know what happens the next minute.

Know the name of the song?
@OutlawMantis
@OutlawMantis 3 жыл бұрын
@@stevenpotts2752 Unfortunately it isn't in the soundtrack. If this was the second season or later we'd probably have the music through unofficial sources. That's because all of those other seasons were recorded in surround sound. The first season was only stereo. So a guy managed to get a lot of music from the later seasons by using a technique to grab the music from the surround sound. It's too bad we can't have this track too. Probably the closest to this song would be the OST track: "Jack's Revenge at the Docks". Keep in mind that if you haven't actually completed this season of 24, searching for that song would undoubtedly spoil the season for you.

Love everything about this scene. The action, the score, & the sheer urgency of it all. So beautifully done.

What made this season so special was that we see Jack, for the one and only time in the series, as a desperate father and husband, tired, at the end of his rope and vulnerable. He feels real here, not the invincible tough guy he later becomes.

So true. Learned about his past while sitting w the waitress. Started falling asleep then awake n never asleep again in any season unless knocked out or passed out from pain or too much electricity n killed by stark n then took pill or whatever end of season 4 to look dead n heart stopped then Tony revived him n got it going n Jack was back 😂👍

Point to any shootout in any film, this ranks right up there with the best of them. It's not just the action that makes a scene great, it's the actions context, the emotional investment the audience gives it, that's what makes this scene so incredible. We lived through it all with Jack leading to it and by the time we get there, we're right there with him.

I remember this particular episode blowing me away when it first aired, back before the series went into overkill mode. It felt unexpectedly climactic, felt like a proper film and ended on a great cliffhanger!

I like that they actually took a second to acknowledge the fact that the van sure as hell wasn't going to stop those assault rifle bullets and to take cover behind the wheels instead... which also wouldn't have stopped the bullets, but hey its more effort then most shows put into shootouts!

Season one was my favorite due to its simplistic plot idea: revenge - kill Jack's/David's families as revenge for their involvement in Operation: Nightfall, which took out a known terrorist, but were unaware it took out his wife and daughter, too. I'd love it if you uploaded the scene where Jack goes into Dunlop Plaza to save Walsh (season one, episode two). I've watched 24 since the pilot, but it was that scene that made me a fan of the show.

I swear to God after all this years Gaines is still the only realistic villain i have ever seen on tv and movies alike . Things like that on 24 season 1 will never be recreated unfortunately .
@BruceBurnett
@BruceBurnett 8 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that (regarding the recreation). Legacy has the director of this particular piece, Stephen Hopkins, among the crew (he did the original pilot & 11 more eps of S1; & this new pilot). Given the somewhat more grounded scale of the spinoff, there maybe more instances of things like this.
@OutlawMantis

Honestly, I think Legacy's been pretty disappointing, even from an unbiased standpoint.
@MickyplaysProgressiveHouse
@MickyplaysProgressiveHouse 7 жыл бұрын
This will never be recreated this well,never and that's the beauty and uniqueness of the original 24 and of the epic Jack Bauer character,the actors and the crew are just not that good in the later seasons (especially in Legacy). Rick said it well and this is what i say: Legacy is weak, you don't get the impression of smoothness in scenes in Legacy like in the early 24 seasons(1-4),especially in the action scenes when you as a viewer have to get that feeling of rush,seriousness and extreme tension like in a real life situation thanks to the high and well coordinated performance of every single (skilled)actor in the scene,all of them have to be like 1,giving 100% but not overacting,that is when you get epic scenes like this one. Let's be honest,you don't have this swag in Legacy,Eric was good,Donovan was good and a few more were good,but it was not the top. I expected a lot more from Tony Almeida,they should have gave him a lot more time in the episodes,what do you think? With Tony Almeida i felt that old school 24 vibe i was missing so much from Legacy,another bad ass pro like Bauer.

if the season ended here it would be one of the all time greatest runs - the second half kinda prolongs things. that's why the new 12-episode format is great.
@Pirelli913
@Pirelli913 7 жыл бұрын
It nearly did end after episode 13 (Gaines' death, Teri/Kim saved). Fox only ordered 13 episodes in case the show didn't pan out. So the writers had to come up with a "conclusion" by episode 13. Because the show was such a hit, Fox ordered the remaining 11, but since the first half wrapped up Gaines' story line, the writers had to come up with another plot idea, so they made Gaines a pawn for the real threat of the Drazen's as revenge for Operation: Nightfall.

I've never watched 24 before but I came across this channel recently and choose to see what the fuss was all about back in the day - with clips like this, I can see why. You've got yourself another happy subscriber. Couple of requests: 1) Please correct the episode number in your description - it's episode 12 (not 11). 2) I've noticed most of your videos have community contributions enabled to allow people to add subtitles, so I've been busy adding some. If you could enable contribs on the relative few (between 15 and 20) clips where they currently aren't (like the awesome Bauer body armor clip in season 8), that would be brill.
