The 5th area is the quickest to be completed in one day! I think the above-ground route can be improved but that's a start. Only one area left, which will need to 2 days to complete as you can enter Caver for a King before beating Louie a second time in a Dandori battle.

A really fun watch! Only thing that kinda saddens me is that the Dandori challenges are just straight up skippable. I completely understand it from a speedrun perspective, but those challenges are literally designed to be optimized, so it's a shame that they're skipped.

The bouncy mushroom used at 2:26 in Dream Home can be used to get Oatchi across to the other side where the captain can climb to. It's quite precise but if Oatchi lands near the far edge of the mushroom, he should be able to make it across.

I think it’s a flag check, because Louie can’t be in two places at once. You’d have to beat him in dandori battle before you can find him in the last cave

It's comforting to see Oatchi slow you down a couple times because he didn't carry things as cleanly as possible because I've definitely yelled at that dog a couple times trying to get platinum dandoris. Nice work on this series by the way! Also 15:25 almost gave me a heart attack. I can't imagine how many runs you've lost to stuff like that haha

I don't know about them, but what I do is I try to optimize singular tasks specifically and restart over and over until I get a time I feel I can't beat, then I do all the tasks with as minimum Pikmin as possible to see what's feasible at the same time, and then I compare times between the other tasks to see what can be getting done in the same time frame over the course of the day. It takes a bit of doing but personally for me that's a pretty good way to go about it.

Do you actually have to be fast inside caves to be able to make it 100% in one day? Like does it effect how much time passes while you are inside the cave?

Time passes at 1/6 the rate while in a cave, which sounds like very little but can really add up if you take your time, so yes, speed in caves does matter.

You can take as long as you want for the final cave in an area if you got everything else first, but also this is a real-time speedrun so it’s not just about finishing in one day

@@ShuckleShellAnemia Yeah I know, just asking for my own personal runs of the game, which are not speedruns, but still I like to look to speedrunners for how to play, you know. I have some more questions actually. Like do Dandori Battles do the same thing as caves with the time? And also since the game provides functions to let you reverse time, both inside caves and outside, how does that effect things? Since this is for my personal run, I can make use of that so I would love to know. If I reverse time in caves because I messed up at some point to be fast enough... does that work? Can it be used to make the whole thing easier. Can it even be used to cheat some stuff, since I noticed that the game doesn't give the exact same possition I was in 2 minutes ago, when it says that time is reversed 2 minutes... so I'm really wondering about how that mechanic can and should be used if I where to attempt this.

Because screw that thing, auto lock was so bad I got 80% of the kills with Oatchi charge and letting him kill whatever was left around him instead of accidentally throwing every purple guy at the same thing because it wouldn't let me switch.

Most people say it makes things harder. What's even worse is the fact that it stops you throwing more Pikmin onto an object once the minimum required have been thrown on; you'll notice at several points in this video (most notably 13:46) that Ice Cube deliberately throws Pikmin short of the object, to stop the auto-lock-on from applying and allow more Pikmin to be thrown on.
