Hey I recently been watching some of your older vids and I’m thinking about becoming a walk on at ncat im a junior in High School and haven’t played football sense 8th grade due to family issues I am going to play my senior year I’ve been in the gym losing weight and went from 272 to 233 my goal is to get to 200 pounds even when I was big I have always been pretty athletic I’m 6 foot as well I wanted to ask you how exactly do I set up a walk on tryout I’m very happy I found your channel this early so I can plan ahead I don’t know what position will beat suit me on the team I used to play Tight end and linebacker but now I’m lost My coach has one many coaching awards for NY state so hopefully he can put in a position I succeed

What’s up Antonio, Thanks for tuning in. Im glad you are preparing yourself this early too. First thing I will say is to focus on building your skill for football season. There is still an opportunity for you to get a scholarship if you ball out your senior year. I recommend getting as much film of yourself as possible. If you can create a highlight tape from your first 3 games, film of you working out, showing off your athleticism, that will be key for marketing yourself should you pursue college football. Once you have some type of film and know for sure you want to play college football, then it will be time to reach out to coaches about being recruited at their school.

Any advice for current walk-ons when the program basically clears out all walk-ons after spring game?
@TheWalkOnCoach2 жыл бұрын
Sheesh! This is my first time hearing about something like that. First I would recommend showing up in the coach face persistently asking “when will I be able to get back on the team” and talk about what you did while you were on the team, explain why your valuable. After that, me and you can talk about the next move.

@@arbtracker7979 that’s rough. Thats like when they canceled walk-on tryout indefinitely at my school. You may want to transfer if the coaching staff treats their walk-ons like that. But I know that’s not always the best move for everyone.
