Awesome!! We sang this at church today. Our worship leader was trying to think of a last minute additional to his lineup and I suggested this one!! It went off beautifully!! The best part is that one of our other assistant pastors got out the Shofar and blew it during the song!! Chills and tears, I kid you not!!

Back at my church we used to combine a lot of these classic songs. For instance we combine Jehovah jireh with this song. For a long time growing up, I used to think jehovah jireh and trumpet of Zion were one song.

A great song. It’s from Joel chapter 2 When God is judging his nation and God was saying to his priests to say “spare his people”. Israel had been worshipping Idols and were carried away. This song is more of a judgment song than a song that lifts one up. But again just because it sounds good doesn’t always mean it’s the right spirit.

The Puritans believed that the army they are singing about would be Muslims conquering most of the world at the time of the end. Joel's army in the Bible is a vengeful unstoppable force bringing severe judgement. it is called God's army in the same way that the king of Babylon was called God's servant.........they bring judgement and terror.

It is almost the Jewish New Year 5785-Rosh Hashanah-the day of Judgement of Gods Holy People. His Chosen above all others. May this be the day many of His people find Yeshua Jesus as their Messiah! May this be the day they discover that Judgment has already been passed, that Jesus took our shame and nailed it to the cross. He paid the penalty for us and they can walk in freedom without spending the day running to people they might have offended and seeking forgiveness. While not a bad idea to seek forgiveness, tomorrow can be a day of true celebration as they realize they are FREE!! God, so many do not walk in freedom. They are in bondage to drugs, alcohol, horrible ideologies, sinful ways I cannot even imagine. But today, may they walk in Your freedom. Today may they experience true freedom that can only come from You. Not just Your Chosen Ones but all people. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!

I wrote Blow The Trumpet In Zion with David Wilkerson. The song was written on Yom Kippur in 1992. The first verse was written in the German dialect of Yiddish. The first verse was written in the dialect of Yiddish spoken in the Sudetenland. Then we translated the chorus into the Polish dialect of Yiddish. Then the chorus was translated into the Hungarian dialect of Yiddish. Then the switches to Hebrew. (That was the part written by David Wilkerson. He knows Biblical Hebrew.) Then Rebecca Isaacs came by. She translated the chorus into Modern Hebrew, spoken in Israel. The part written by Ben Isaacs was omitted by Gloria Gaither who stole the copyright for this song. That part was written in the Austrian dialect of Yiddish. Then Sonja Isaacs translated the chorus into the Norwegian dialect of Yiddish. The part written by Joe Isaacs was also omitted by Gloria Gaither who stole the copyright for this song. That part was written in the Danish dialect of Yiddish. Then Katherine Kuhlman came by and she translated into the Dutch dialect of Yiddish. Then the part written by Benny Hinn was omission by Gloria Gaither who stole the copyright for this song. That part was written in the Cypriot dialect of Yiddish. Benny Hinn also translated the song into Arabic.
